Trying to Get Pregnant

Follow Up ? - Late O

Some of you told me you have had cycles where you "gear up to O" ( pos OPK, EWCM, etc) and then don't for another week or more. My question is, when this happens, do you have a second LH surge? Wondering if it's worth it to keep using up OPK's when I've already had a positive for the month and am just waiting to O.

As a down payment for your wisdom, here is a picture of a puppy with duckies:

  • I always continue the OPKs until FF confirms ovulation.

This hasn't happened to me, but I would use OPKs again if you don't confirm O w/ temp shift.  Otherwise, you'll miss your fertile window.

ETA:  Yes, you'll get a 2nd LH surge.

  • I've never had it happen before. But I am obsessed with the duckies :)
I know right??? They're so yeeelloowwwww :0) And I totally don't get that because you don't see a lot of yellow ducks walking around. So why would baby duckies be yellow?

  • Without LH, you don't ovulate, so yes, you get another surge.

  • This is enlightening to me. I didn't realize you could get two positive opks a week apart. Hmmm...I am new to this because I just started opks this cycle. Thanks for the info, ladies! And what is cuter than duckies and a puppy!

You can get positives several days in a row, or weeks apart.  My favorite cycle was the one where I got positive OPKs for a week straight, then again 2 weeks later, and finally 3 weeks after that my dr prescribed provera so I could end that cycle.

    Hormones are fun.
