Hi all, we just had our second MFM apt. today. At the first apt last month they said Baby A appeared to have a club foot on his right side and they'd double check it this month. They verified that it is indeed a club foot. My hubby and I knew this was a possibility and are NOT freaking out or worrying. However, we didn't know what it meant so went home and did an internet search. From what we saw of the scan it doesn't seem horribly misshapen, but I'm not an expert either so admit I could be wrong. Regardless, we decided that we're not going to sit back and see if it corrects itself after they are born. We're going to do what is needed to ensure this little guy will have every advantage his brother will have. We're not losing sleep over it, we are dealing with it. We aren't saddened by it, we aren't discouraged, we aren't mad at God. We are strong enough to handle it and know that God gives us what we can handle, and obviously He feels we can handle this. We are seeing our regular OB doctor on Friday and hopefully will get more info and options, of course without knowing exactly how severe it is it'll be a waiting game until he comes out. We're not going to sit back and wait until he's 3 though to try to get it taken care of. The website we looked at said that early treatment usually totally corrects it. "Usually". That's where the prayer request comes in. Slight deformity, major deformity, no deformity, doesn't matter. They're perfect to us. We just want our babies to have the same advantages as other children, so please pray that it's an easy fix for him.
On a good note, both babies are growing exactly as they should be. With the exception of Baby A's right foot, both babies appear to be perfectly healthy and the MFM doctor decided that he doesn't need to see us anymore, we can stick with our regular OB. That tells me that he has no other concerns about either baby or myself, which is a great thing!
According to the website, all of the "normal" causes of clubfoot do NOT in any way apply to me. I have never smoked and will not be around smokers, have never used illicit drugs, no familial history. Just a fluke I guess. But again, we'll take it and love him to pieces anyway and do whatever is necessary to make his life easier.
Thanks for your prayers, they are appreciated. I'd say Baby A and B are saying hi right now since as I'm typing this they are bouncing around and kicking like crazy. Thank you my friends!!!
Edit: We decided to nickname them Nemo and Squirt, from Finding Nemo. Nemo will be Baby A (Nemo has a little fin after all and does wonderful through the whole movie) and Squirt will be Baby B. We got tired of referring to them as "A & B" and since we don't know which will be which, they got nicknames. Whichever is born first will be named Elijah Joseph, the next will be Gabriel John. So, for now, they are Nemo and Squirt! (I love that movie by the way)

MH was born with 2 clubbed feet and has a totally normal life He tried the casts until he was one, and it didn't work, so he had surgery on both feet. My MIL said he was the happiest baby and even with casts got along great and was able to crawl, scoot, walk, etc.
