My friend found out at 14 weeks, is that typical for all pregnancies to find out tht soon?

There's a place out here that can find out at 14 weeks (they did with DS), but the doctor's won't usually give you their opinion until 20 weeks or so.

Usually it's at the anatomy scan at around 20 weeks. Like PP said, you can sometimes find out earlier with an ultrasound.

I'm hoping to find out at 16 weeks but I won't be disappointed to find out at the standard 20

Sometimes techs will guess at the NT scan (if you opt to do one) but that's early...10-12 weeks. I wouldn't take much stock in a NT scan guess. My perinatologist won't take an official guess until 18 weeks.

If you get the new DNA tests, those will tell you definitively at 12-14 weeks

Some doctors will guess early, but traditionally speaking you find out the sex at the anatomy scan (typically 18-22 weeks).

Some of the 3D ultrasounds can tell much earlier -- 13 or 14 weeks.

Did your friend get pre-natal testing? If it was on a scan, it's just a guess and that's too early to be 100% accurate

I found out at 16wks with my boys but they won't do it until 20wks (after Thanksgiving) now. At least ill know before Christmas.

In the uk you can book a private 3d scan and sexing from 16w

She found out at 13 weeks on her regular visit https://www.dailygarnish.com/2011/04/second-prenatal-visit-surprises.html. Maybe it's the luck of the draw and just depends on the position of the baby during your u/s?

there's a new blood test where they can find out super early but I don't think its offered everywhere. otherwise, I found out at 21 weeks with my son.
