I'd like G off bottles at a year. As it is now, her only bottle is her one before bed. She will still drink 8oz. The rest of the day she will at most drink 10oz over breakfast lunch and dinner from a sippy. She doesn't need the bottle to fall asleep. It just feels as if that is a substantial amount to cut out all at once. Maybe she will wean herself in the next month. Just wondering if there is something I should be doing.
Re: Weaning Bed Time Bottle
We were also down to only one 8oz. bedtime bottle. One day I cut it down to 6oz. and he did fine with that, then last week he started only drinking half of it before getting bored. Now I only offer 5 oz. and he rarely finishes it. It was like a random, sudden change and he decided he doesn't care about it anymore. We still do the bedtime bottle, but I think we'll just quit it next week since he seems ready.
We're down to just a bedtime bottle occassional motn bottle. She gets sippies with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack times. She drinks about 2-4 oz out of the sippy. We do a 6oz before bed and it's more routine than necessary. She gets motn bottles if she wakes up more than once and can't be soothed back to sleep, we give her 3-4 oz bottle.
She's slowly becoming less interested so I figure she will let us know when she's done. We've continued to follow her lead through all transitions and it's worked so far. I plan to discuss with pedi next month.
