Neurologist

My OB is referring me out to a neurologist for my head aches . When I get them their migraine like and last two to three days. Medication doesn't help.

    I have had one for over 3 weeks and I asked my doctor about seeing one and was told there is nothing a neurologist can do. I am miserable nothing is helping it. Let me know what you find out please

    Have you tried an elimination diet? My migraines are triggered by stress and certain foods. Knowing what do avoid made such a difference for me. Common triggers are wine, chocolate, MSG, and artificial sweeteners.

    Haven't tried to eliminate possible triggers because honestly they always start at work so I'm thinking maybe its from stress.

    The other thing I'm afraid of is I have had surgery to remove cysts from my sinus' about four years ago that caused headaches- although not this bad. That was the WORST surgery ever!

    I have one almost every day. it is terrible. My neurologist gave my pininolt to take at night and maxalt to take during the day. Maxalt makes me feel like death. acupuncture used to really help me but i work too much to go now :( i need help it is terrible

    Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
    Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
    4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
    Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
    Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(
    Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! EDD 6/16/12m/c 10/26/11
    Baby #5: 3/13/12 BFP! EDD 11/25/12 ANOTHER m/c :(

    Baby #6: 2/14/13- BFP! EDD 10/24/13, CP 2/19/13
    Baby #7: 3/15/13- BFP! EDD 11/27/13, another CP
    Baby #8.  BFP 5/19/13 EDD 1/22/14. 8 was not our lucky number

    4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
    Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

    My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!

    For me, excedrin works better than prescription meds but we can't take it while pregnant. My oldest son gets migraines too but minors can't take excedrin. We joke that on his 18th birthday that will be his gift.

    I just saw a neurologist a few weeks ago for the same problem. He said the only thing I can take is Tylenol. To prevent them he gave the following ideas: -drink a ton of water -Get a cervical pillow -Go to your chiropractor -Drink more water. I have followed his advice and so far I have only had one migraine. The weather changed drastically from dry and 70's to 90's and humid. The barometric pressure triggered that one - not much I could do...

    My neurologist had to relinquish me to the OB. I can't take any of my meds for migraines. They can cause birth defects. Thankfully my OB knows my history and gave me a pain reliever nose spray, that has helped immensely.
