Cloth Diapering

Getting nervous

I'm starting to get nervous about cloth diapering again since joining cloth diaper groups on facebook. It seems like soooo many people have issues all the time and I'm worried we're going to be one of those people and likely give up. I see most issues are from rashes, delaminating, and/or washing. Is it common to have all these problems or are these people just not listening to suggestions? I went through this when I first decided to cloth but we hadn't bought anything yet and I feel like I'm worrying again.

Kind of a pointless post, just needed to vent a little I guess. Really hoping we don't have a ton of problems like some of these people. Makes me see why people don't want to cloth after reading these posts.

  • So here's the thing.  No one is going to make a post about "hey guess what, CDing is still going peachy keen, no issues here!" because who would read that?  KWIM?  So the complaints and issues you see are disproportionate to the number of people who CD.
We haven't had any issues in a year of CDing, and I'm just about the laziest, most irresponsible person I've ever met.

Also, @jerseygirl6411 I freaking ADORE your siggy pic!  What a great idea!

That's true I never thought of it that way. Kind of like when you read reviews normally if something works for someone they don't always go to leave a review kind of thing right?

Thank you ladies! I think sometimes I just tend to worry a lot about little things lol.
  • I think there is some trial and error. More so if theres a big change like new washer, a move, sickness, ect. We almost all get hit with something to troubleshoot. If it's something like yeast all the way down to just needing to switch detergents. Most of it isn't a huge deal. You learn to love the process though.

  • The only problems I've had in over 3 years is an over night solution. To me it's not the end of the world to use a sposie at night, though I'm still working on it for my second baby. Otherwise no rashes, no washing issues, no delamination.
  • Thank you ladies! I'm really hoping we don't run into too many problems when we start.
  • If you do, that's what we're here for.  :D
