  • My vote is that I never swaddled. They swaddled her in the hospital once, I let her sleep, then unswaddled her and that was the end of that.  I never swaddled my son either. Both are good sleepers.

  • We are trying to get away from the swaddle. Sometimes we still need to, but most of the time we don't.

So glad to see you around!

Did you not swaddle for any specific reason?  Just curious!

When I was a young mom with DS, an elderly relative advised me (that's the polite way of saying yelled at me in the old world mommy way) that I shouldn't swaddle the baby or else he'd have a hard time getting himself to sleep as he got older. She could have very well been full of sh!t, but I followed those instructions, and DS is one of the best sleepers ever.  I hope my daughter is as good a sleeper. So far so good.

  • I don't swaddle either. Never really have. I sometimes do a loose wrap.

  • At night only. We use a swaddle pod. My DD sleeps better swaddled. I think her naps are too short sometimes because she isn't swaddled.

  • We stopped swaddling in the first few weeks, but I think we're going to try swaddling again as we move from napping in the swing to the crib.  I was watching her nap yesterday, and she kept startling over and over again, and she only slept for 40 mins.  I think swaddling would help her be more rested and sleep longer.

  • He will nap without a swaddle but doesn't sleep well at night if he isn't swaddled. He startles too easily.
  • We also only swaddle at night or if he's really fighting a nap but I'm trying to get out if it because he really likes to suck his hands and he fights so much to get the out lately

  • I only swaddle Josh if I want him to scream at me and fling his poo. He HATES it.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • I swaddled DS1 but DS2 hates the swaddle. Every once in a while I swaddle him and put him in his swing, but that's the only time he likes it.

  • Mr Man enjoys sleeping with his hands above his head.  He also seems to sleep pretty well through his startles.  We stopped swaddling as soon as we got home from the hospital.  The Montessori daycare we were looking at suggested not swaddling, so we just went for it.  Nothing against swaddling, it just seemed like it wasn't necessary for us.

  • We swaddle all the time although he can sleep without it for a short period of time.  I swaddled my older son until 9 months when he learned to roll and he had no problem being weaned of the swaddle.  He is an amazing sleeper and always has been.  I plan on using the swaddle as long as needed.

  • I voted some of the time. At night he sleeps swaddled in his swing (STTN) but for naps he sleeps anywhere really and is never swaddled.
