It's kinda cool, but for women who wouldn't know how far along they are, I can see this adding more confusion. It's standard practice to count pregnancy by weeks including the few weeks we weren't even pregnant. But this test goes back to ovulation.
So if I woman takes this test and it tells her she is 1-2 weeks, she would then have to add two weeks, making her 3-4 weeks. But that's only if a woman ovulated on CD14, or knows when she ovulated to adjust accordingly. In the end, for women knowing how far along they are, it's just an added "huh that's cool", but I don't think this will solve the issue of knowing how many weeks you are if you have no clue in the first place.

Have been out in Canada for a while, this is what I got my positive on
Yep, I've seen them in our local pharmacy. I know that some women get confused by the results. (Says the girl who can't even figure out her own EDD apparently.)

All this and also... this bases how far along you are on hcg levels, which can vary pretty wildly from woman to woman in the beginning. I can see no good things coming from this, only more confusion.

This exactly. It's very cool but I think at the same time, like she said, for people who don't really know how to calculate everything, it may be a bit confusing.
