Success after IF

My Big Girl

So yesterday, the DC was supposed to start slowly transitioning E over to the next class up.  In the next class, they only take one nap, and they drink out of sippies not bottles, and they use plates and silverware, and they learn letters and numbers and sign language.  Instead of slowly transitioning, she had so much fun that they just left her in there all day, and moved all her stuff over this morning.  Seriously, who snuck into my house and replaced my baby with a big kid?

Who else's baby is growing up too darn fast?  What have your LOs done lately that is just too big?

Re: My Big Girl

  • Yep it happens! Ours is I think going through terrible 2s right now and shakes his head no to everything even when he wants something. First answer is always Nu uh. Funniest thing but daycare must teach him to put everything away..including every pee and poo diaper her takes it all excited and runs to our trashcan to throw it away. Took us a while to figure out why he was running somewhere and just standing there. They learn fast and then they are no longer babies :/

  • Way to go E!

M is cruising better just the last day or 2.  He also has outgrown his baby bath tub!  I gave his last bath in the Tub of a Whale yesterday and took a pic.  We compared that with his first pic in the bath tub (9 months ago).  I can't believe how much he's grown!  He was such a scrawny baby then.

  • What a big girl!! Go E! :) I am so happy to hear she is enjoying it.

Grayson is using his utensils really well. Both his fork and spoon skills are seriously impressing me. He is growing up way too fast. Sad Momma.

  • Ooh, @mdiblasi10 I am such a bad mom!  I almost never give E utensils.  If I have the time, I will preload a spoon for her and let her feed herself applesauce.  But during the week dinner is so rushed, we just let her eat everything with her fingers.

  • @TJ1979 - you are not a bad Mom! It is VERY messy, so it's difficult to give them to him every day. He does have his own plate, but I usually use his high chair tray so he doesn't throw the plate  ;)

Woohoo! Go, E! That's really impressive!

C is pulling up on everything and cruising but yesterday he moved from the ottoman to the couch. I mean his feet didn't really move but he let go enough to turn his body and then reposition his feet. Also looking at him in other people's arms makes me realize how big he is. I can't really tell while I'm holding him but when others do, WOW! My baby is growing up. Ok and then there's one more. Over the weekend we did some reorganizing of his closet, putting away smaller clothes and hanging the bigger ones. His closet is full of big boy clothes! It's just a crazy sight. So much different than a year ago when I was washing, folding and hanging all these tiny pieces of clothing and trying to imagine something so small that would fit into them. Alright I may start tearing up if I don't stop now.

OMG @chiwifey!  I can't believe C is cruising, and now transitioning from one piece of furniture to the other.  It will not be long now.  :D

@pb_bride I can't believe the difference either.  When I think back to the teeny tiny chicken legs E used to have, compared to her adorably chunky thighs now, it's hard to believe it's the same baby.  It's also hard to believe we were so worried about her gaining enough weight when we look at her big ole belly poking out over her diaper.

:((  Such a big girl!!  AUGH!  I don't know what I'll do when my baby turns one.  I am still in shock that she is 6.5 months.  And I thought my pregnancy went by fast...

Lately, Sophie has been lovingly reaching for my cheeks with both of her hands.  She has the biggest, toothless, grin you can imagine and she just grabs, lightly.  Completely melts my heart [of stone as my one friend says].  Seriously, when did I become such a softee??

@Ducky719 that is so sweet!  Pretty sure you became a softee the day she was born.  It does something to you, I swear.  I used to never cry.  And I'm not sure that 13 months later you can blame me crying at a real estate commercial on the hormones.  But it's the one where the husband is in the military, and surprises his wife!  Come on now, whoever doesn't cry at that is dead inside.
