I live in Westchester now, but I work in the city and here everyday. I am due 12/14 and will deliver at Columbia. We've had a good summer to be pregnant in the city - the walking and subways have not been as bad as they could have!
D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs. Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!
@pinkinProvence, I'm an exec assistant. I'm super happy that the weather hasn't been dreadful. Hoping the winter isn't terrible either. But you never know. I just don't want to slip on ice/snow!
It's been a totally different experience being pregnant in NYC. We don't have a car so we have to walk everywhere and take the sub. I still don't get a seat every time I ride. lol... And I can't stand when people push into the cars and cram everyone. I just know the bigger I get, the more protective I'm going to become. Hopefully I don't end up saying something to someone crazy! lol...
Me too - recently moved to upper west side from the UK. Looking forward to joining some of the expecting mom meet ups this month - it just hasn't felt real until now!
I live in Westchester now, recently moved from the Bronx (Riverdale). I miss having the subway, but I am appreciating the extra space with a baby on the way!
Just moved out of Manhattan to bigger space in Brooklyn. So far it's been nice but I do work in the city. The morning commute is a pain because there is never a seat available, but as I start showing maybe that will change.
I lived and worked in Manhattan until I was 5 months pregnant. Nobody could tell so I never got subway seats. I went back last week for work and I was excited to get seats on the subway but for some reason there was ALWAYS an empty seat. It was nice to sit but I never got my chance to be the pregnant lady on the subway who gets offered a seat. :o3
I was standing up on the subway today going from Brooklyn to the Bronx, and I must have looked so miserable that a woman standing nearby asked the guy sitting in front of her to get up and give me his seat. He did it immediately! I was seriously shocked, and got all pregnant lady emotional!
Re: Calling all Dec 13 Manhattan Moms
My sister was an OB nurse at NYU for a long time, so I've heard really good things about it!
