1st Trimester

Reassurance needed

Hi ladies,

I had a positive pregnancy test on Monday (8/26) and had my hcg level drawn yesterday as I haven't had a period in year. I'm 99% sure I ovulated on the 13 of this month and my level came back at 1100. Does this seem really high for how far along I would be?

Thanks!!

Re: Reassurance needed

  • I had my first draw at 14 dpo and it was 128. My second draw 17 dpo and it was in the 450's. and I had a third one done yesterday which would have me at 22 dpo and it was in the 4000's!!!! Don't focus so much on the first number, it's whether or not the number doubles every 24-48 hours (easier said then done, I know) :)
  • Mine at 17 DPO was 1357, which had almost tripled from 490 two days before. Like PP said, the important thing is that it doubles in about a 48 hour period. If you got KU on the 13th, or a day before, you're pretty much right on schedule. There are lots of online scales that show you what your HCG should range between based on your LMP (which I would go by instead of the day you ovulated, as you can get pregnant up to 2 days after that anyways). Best of luck!

  • Hard to tell from one number alone. There is a great amount of variance of normal. What is most important is that its doubling every 48-72 hours. Are you getting a second blood draw?

  • Yes, I have another one tomorrow morning. I guess the high number just made me think possible multiples and curious if anyone had experience
  • HCG levels aren't any sort of reliable indicator of multiples. Looks like you are just over 4 weeks? I went back and looked at my betas and at 4w3d mine were 1479. I have one healthy baby in there. Looks like you have a sticky pregnancy which is good, congrats!
