What are your babies into, entertainment-wise...

Hi guys! This is my very first post (I feel like the New Kid at school. Maybe I should stammer, just to really get into my Newbie role;)

Annnnnyways, I'm curious what your babies are into at 5 months, entertainment-wise. My guy loves his jumper (looooves it!) and still digs his activity mat. Not so into anymore: his swing and his bouncer. I'm looking to buy a couple new "toys" to keep him active, involved, and learning so I'm also looking for recommendations from you all!

Looking forward to getting to know you March mommies!

  • Exersaucer

Time on the floor to just crawl and explore different toys and objects (he especially loves playing with a clean diaper because of the feel and noise, and I let him do so supervised)

Anything he can chew on (teethers, Sophie)

    OBall

The little toy where you do different things to make different animals pop up

He naps sometimes in his swing, but he's way beyond the toy bar on the swing. Hates the bouncer too - too confining. Never was really a fan of the activity mat because he was an early roller and never really stayed on it. He loves his jumperoo at day care, but we just have the Exersaucer at home, and we've decided not to shell out the $100 for one when he'll grow out of it soon and he has one 5 days a week at day care.

  • He loves the jumperoo and exersaucer (but the jumperoo more). He also hangs out on his playmat and rolls around eating his toes. He loves Sophie the Giraffe and some other teether toys. He'll hang with me in the bouncer while I'm cooking in the kitchen. We'll take walks, play with older DS, etc. :) We ditched the swing a few months ago - he used it, but not that much and it was taking up space.

  • Jumperoo,, jolly jumper, electronic storybook (with lights& music), anything she can chew on, watching dad play guitar, blanket time outside...
  • Loves:
exersaucer...tummy time on the wood floor not on a blanket this way he can get some traction with his feet and not slip around.  petting the dogs or just watching the dogs.  cloth books that he can touch.

Does not like: bouncer,  not into the swing but then he never liked the swing that much, sophie the giraffe,  any plastic toys,  hard books.

  • right now she's into  (23 weeks btw)
-floor time. She's trying to crawl so she'll spend a lot of time rocking on her hands and knees. she's mobile enough that she can kind of get places-just in weird ways lol. lol right now she's practicing rolling from her tummy to her back (after rolling to her back from her tummy). she's literally practiing it-it's awesome she just did it like 5 times in a row and laughed each time.

-sitting practice. i either prop her up with a little bucket of toys in the bed, or in her back in play with the boppy, or in between my legs on the floor.  She spends like 30-45 minutes that way. she sits most of it unassisted but still needs some pillows when she gets excited

-jumper. she'll spend some time in that

-highchair. i'll put toys in front of her or even some very mashed up bananas that she gets her little fingers in and she loves mashing that into her face, the chair, etc

-laying outside. she likes  to just lay out side after a walk. ill spread out a blanket and lay with her down there and she loves the crap out of it.

in fact, the only "toy" we use is the jumper besides her toys she can grab and look at she's pretty content just to move around on the floor or sit and play with her rattles and things

  • oh re read post. specific toy....

    -cloth books
-anthing with those little "tags" on them that she can grab and stick in her mouth.  i think bright stars makes a lot of them
-bright rattle that makes noise when she shakes it
-baby einstein light up toys. i have a piano for when she's on tummy time and she hits it like crazy
    -cold teethers-we're teething :(
-the toys that hung from her activity mat
-little books she can hold in her hands
    -light up keys

i honestly i keep like 4 bins, that i rotate with her that she can play with different toys every 2-3 days

His favorite thing right now is his jolly jumper - he goes crazy in it, laughing and jumping around. He is less fond of his exersaucers ( we have a few, they were hand-me-downs from friends). He loves Sophie. He also loves brightly coloured toys - baby Einstein ball, musical turtle, Lamaze toys, etc. we also do music circles / play groups often now, and he loves interacting with the other babies!

  • Jake loves his bouncer and ceiling fans. Stick him under or near a ceiling fan and he'll stare at it 'til the cows come home.

  • S loves anything she can get into her mouth and chew on! She really likes her jumper, outdoor swing and sometimes her activity mat. Lately she has been enjoying checking out her feet and trying to put the whole thing in her mouth! :-/

  • He LOVES the Wonder Wheel!  Plays with it on the high chair while I get his dinner ready!  Also into anything crackly.  Hubby cleaned off a foil potato chip bag & he thinks it's awesome!  He has a little musical "My First Puppy" (Carter's) that he always smiles at & hugs.

  • The ceiling fan...yes! Total fascination. But really they love anything crackly. They have a soft, crackly Guess How Much I Love You book and they will try and pull it out of each other's hands. They love the sound.
