stupid job.

As we all know, I hate my stupid job.  Well yesterday, my supervisor took me in her office and told me they are losing funding for my position (which is a complete lie, because they were JUST saying how my grant was renewed, plus they are always talking about how much money they are bring in, bla bla bla)  So their plan is to cut my hours down to 18 starting next fucking week.  Also, we had a fundraiser last Friday which I KNOW they raised a shit-ton of money.  My dad is a florist, and donated over 500$ worth of center pieces, which they had no problem accepting.

Not only are they cutting my hours but they are making me do a different part of the job which requires serving meals to elderly (Meals on Wheels) which I love doing BUT this is not my job, whatsoever, and sometimes the meals are really heavy to pick up (they serve them in like a catering pan, those mashed potatoes can be 50lbs I swear)

I have my BSW and my job is not to serve food.  Whatever.  The thing that annoys me is that they are dropping me down to PT and that means that my job will not be held while I'm out on maternity leave.  FMLA doesn't cover PT employees... I hate this place, but was not planning on this loss of income.  It would be nice to collect unemployment for a little (I have never collected before) and stay home with LO, but it also brings on a lot of stress.  I should have seen this coming.  Fuck them, and thank you for reading.

  • If you really need to stay full-time, you should call your local EEOC office.  Sounds like a violation of the Federal Pregnancy Discrimination Act.  EEOC will tell you for free if you have a claim and they will contact your employer on your behalf.
