So now that I found out, it has set in that I am not suppose to get insurance from work until November 1st so now I am sitting here trying to figure out wtf I do.
Do you have other insurance? Covered by a spouse or access to COBRA? Do you (or a spouse) have a FSA or HSA?
I'm assuming you aren't currently covered under another plan, but you could perhaps be eligible for COBRA. If you are, I would enroll to cover the gap until November.
If you don't have access to COBRA or other insurance, my second question comes in to play. If you (or a spouse) have a FSA or HSA, you can use the funds in either account to cover any out of pocked medical expenses.
Luckily for you, there shouldn't be too terribly many appointments prior to November 1. You may be forced to pay out of pocket. If that is the case, call your OB beforehand and explain your situation. Ask upfront the costs for the appointments you need and find out if you absolutely need them prior to Nov 1 or not.

ETA: PP mentions medicade, may be another option!

I won't have insurance until January open enrollement time. In the meantime I'm self paying for all my visits. Not sure if your employer pays your premiums but self pay is actually cheaper for me than the premium I will have to pay when I start paying in January! I have to get on insurance though in January to pay for the expensive delivery etc. good luck let me know if you find something better.
I'm 7 weeks this week, and my husbands insurance won't kick in for about another 50 or so days. I honestly can't afford seeing a doctor out of pocket, so unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait. I made sure to research what I should be doing to make sure baby's healthy, but that's about all I can do at this point. It's a really helpless boat to be in best of luck
@Ksandz777, I am surprised that there isn't an organization in your area that would give you healthcare while pregnant. In my state we have clinics who will see you for a nominal fee, sometimes free, and we have Medicaid, which looks different for pregnant women. Good luck! I'm disheartened to think you are just out of luck while pregnant. I feel like there are some options, at least I hope there are for you.
In our state there is a children's Medicaid program that you qualify for just by being pregnant, even if you wouldn't otherwise qualify based on income. Perhaps you can do this and then switch over once you get insurance? You'd want a doctor who takes both. OR you could switch doctors in November. You'd be about 18-20 weeks, give or take, so that should also be doable.
I think all states have that, since it'd be funded by the federal gov't and administered by the state.
In the state of California we have a healthy baby program and every pregnant women gets great care while they are expecting. If you don't have access to COBRA or can't get onto hubby's via a qualifying life event you should really check with the state. If you happen to have a tubal pregnancy there is a chance your tube could rupture and you could die. Prenatal care is not something you can just skip!
If Texas offers it, surely California also offers the Medicaid coverage or some other program just by virtue of you being pregnant even if you are working. Texans don't get anything leave wise etc. compared to California.
I don't care about the leave right now I am a EMS dispatcher so I sit 12hrs a shift I'm just worried about insurance till November to hold me over... I miscarried in 2011 with my ex husband and I am terrified it will happen again especially if I have no coverage. I just want to know if I gotta go I'm okay

Oh Totally feel you on that one. I just mean that if a state cares enough to have good leave laws, it probably has thought about prenatal care as well. So I bet there are resources for you.
I'm sorry you're having to go through figuring this out, especially when you've had a loss. As if pgal brain isn't enough to deal with!
I just keep crying lol even when I don't wanna cry I cry... I mean I'm use to stress but holy Moly doughnuts. Now I just start crying when I don't know what to do thank u everyone
Also talk to your practitioner. Often Drs. give a "self-pay" discount. I have an ER bill from July that was accidentally marked as "self-pay" and it is a third of the cost of what they billed my insurance once they squared it away.
Planned Parenthood (or something similar)? I actually had to go for 1 year to PP when I did not have insurance. Was like a regular doctors office and was actually quite nice.
