If you already have some then you are considered prone to get them. There's really not a whole lot you can do about it. I bought into the creams gimmicks and made it all the way to 37 weeks with DS before my first stretch mark showed up. You're either going to get them or you won't.
There's really nothing you can do.... some people get them, some people don't. The best thing you can do is keep your weight gain under control, and eat well. I rubbed my belly with cocoa butter body butter from the Body Shop late in my last pregnancy because my skin felt uncomfortably tight, and the lotion helped that... I didn't get any stretch marks, but I'm not convinced the cocoa played a role in that...
PP said it all. It's not in the creams, it's in the genes. They're also totally not that big of a deal. You'll be surprised how much they fade, and how little they matter.
Just a little hope for ya... I have horrible stretch marks on my hips and thighs from teenage growth spurts. Did absolutely nothing to my belly last time and didn't get stretch marks. A scar near my bellybutton stretched in a weird way, but that's it. I didn't gain a ton of weight, 30 lbs I think, and DD was small. My mom didn't have any on her stomach after 3 pregnancies either, but also has them on her hips and thighs. You can be prone to stretch marks in some places, but not others.
Sorry to pop your bubble but NO cream, lotion or,oils work. All my friends have them and I do as well. I wouldn't take back not one of them in exchange for my boys.
Your bf,husband or partner will learn to appreciate them after he/she sees what you go through to get them. My kids are from a previous relationship and my bf now doesn't have kids and he kisses them all the time and tells me how beautiful I am. They really aren't that bad..

This. None for me either, but none of the women in my family have gotten them. Supposedly it's genetic and has to do with the elasticity of your skin.
Some people get them; some people don't. I think it's genetic. But I'm on my second pregnancy and plan on using some oil to at least help with skin elasticity! I hear the second baby can leave your skin a little looser. I don't want a post baby muffin top.
