When is/was your first MFM appointment? September 12 for my first trimester screening. Basically an early anatomy scan with a NT scan rolled up into one. Plus some blood work.
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? Baby kicks and that little perk of being High Risk to see your baby every week in the 3rd trimester. Plus all the cool monthly Anatomy Scans.
What are you looking forward the least? Not eating any of the things I want to eat. No such thing like pregnancy cravings for me.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? I'm ok with it this time around. With my daughter I was devastated for a while. This time around I know this is something I can not change, I can just control it and be healthy, plus the fact that I know I will be back in my pre pregnancy clothes a few weeks after I give birth makes it not so bad.
Why are you high risk? I had, and will likely have again gestational diabetes, and I have a possible incompetent cervix.
When is/was your first MFM appointment? Last week
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? Reaching viability, though praying for 30-34 weeks at least
What are you looking forward the least? Weeks 18-24....week 18 is around the time my cervix could start shortening if it is going to, and it's approaching my loss milestone which is 22 weeks. Then I've still got two weeks till Vday, but even that doesn't make me feel great given the low percentage of survival rate and high percentage of complications and the need for NICU.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? If it were just the GD I'd deal....I can change my diet or take insulin for the health of my baby, not a huge deal. But the IC has me very stressed out and I would give anything to be able to have a normal, stress-free pregnancy with no significant risk of PTL.

I am high risk because I am 38 and also because I had a sub chorionic hematoma early on in my pregnancy. The hematoma is resolving itself.
I saw my OB at 6 weeks because this was a surprise pregnancy and wasn't sure how far along I was.
I most look forward to feeling strong movement - that is my favorite part of being pregnant.
I am not looking forward to incomfortable sleep and back pain.
My feeling about being "high risk" are ambivilent. I don't feel old and my early complications are almost completely resolved.
Why are you high risk? I have had 8 miscarriages, I have a screwed up uterus but i have had 4 surgeries to try to correct it, it still has issues, I have 2 cervix, the newest things are that i have placenta previa and sch, that wouldnt really make me high risk by itself but mix it all together and it makes for a load of fun
When is/was your first MFM appointment? Next week sept 5
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? For it to be over and have a baby. I still cant believe there is a baby in me
What are you looking forward the least? My migraines are out of control. I also hate maternity navy uniforms. I already had to start wearing one
What are your feelings towards being high risk?I am ok with it. I just want a baby

My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!
I had pre-e and developed cardiac damage from my first.
When is/was your first MFM appointment?
July, at about 6 weeks. My next big cardio appointment is 10/17 when I will have an echo.
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy?
Having a baby at the end probably. Pregnancy is not treating me well this time.
What are you looking forward the least?
All of the appointments and test. The possibility that a birthing decision might not be mine. The uncertainity of what this pregnancy could do to my long term health.
What are your feelings towards being high risk?
A little scared, but I was well informed before getting pregnant (had several pre meetings with drs) so that is helping.
Why are you high risk? High blood pressure (prior to pregnancy)
When is/was your first MFM appointment? none, just seeing OB for now as my bp is under control with meds. I will be doing non stress tests starting at 28 weeks
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? just being part of a miracle
What are you looking forward the least? weight gain, stretch marks...
What are your feelings towards being high risk? Scary, but right now we are looking good. I don't want to go on bed rest, but I know that it is a possibility. I also don't want to have a c-section, but of course will do whatever to have a healthy baby!
Why are you high risk? I have tachycardia, bp issues last pg, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Common Variable Immuno Defciency and thrombocytopenia
When is/was your first MFM appointment? 11wk 4d was my first MFM appt
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? hmmm feeling movement, and it being over!
What are you looking forward the least? The waiting game of seeing if my platelets will go up. I have to have a RCS so if they don't I have to get general anesthesia.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? ehh it was no big deal last time. My MFM dr makes me feel very at ease and comfortable about everything.
When is/was your first MFM appointment? I will not have a MFM, but will be staying with my OB from my last pregnancy. He knows my history. He also regularly consults with a MFM in the practice regarding my case so I feel confident in my care.
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? Passing my loss date and reaching viability, although I hope to make it to 37 weeks. I would say getting to see my baby every week at cervix checks, but those cause a lot of anxiety for me as I am always worried I'll get bad news. I am also looking forward to feeling my baby move as I hadn't felt that in my last pregnancy except an occasional flutter I am not sure was the baby or not.
What are you looking forward the least? Weeks 18-24. This is usually when the cervix will shorten and open and we lost our daughter at 20w4d so nearing that date will be terrifying. I am scared I will deliver early and that will open up a whole new world of potential problems for my baby.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? I hate it. I can never relax. In fact I think the first tri will be my most relaxed trimester. Cervix issues will start in the second and that fear and anxiety will be with me throughout the rest of my pregnancy. I am in a constant state of worry about getting my baby to a "safe" gestational age so they have a fighting chance.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Why are you high risk? Multiple losses including late term
When is/was your first MFM appointment? Friday at 12:45
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? Feeling the baby kick. Getting past my loss dates.
What are you looking forward the least? Just all the anxiety that goes along with pregnancy. Whether or not I will have any further complications, what the testing will come back with, what kind of delivery I have to have and how early.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? If I really think about it, I get really depressed because pregnancy is supposed to be natural and it makes me feel like a freak. Nothing about high risk pregnancy (or even getting pregnant) feels "natural".
There was no mention of seeing an MFM at my last appt (12 weeks). I have another OB appt at 16 weeks and I will ask about it. My twins are di/di so the least high risk, may be why no appt. with MFM yet.
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy?
Feeling both babies move!!
What are you looking forward the least?
Uncertainty about delivery. Hoping to make it to term and have vaginal delivery.
What are your feelings towards being high risk?
I'm not too worried at this stage in the game as my dr and all of the nurses have said I'm to lowest high risk there is.
I have to add that my heart goes out to all of you that have had late loses and I cannot wait for each of you to pass that point in this pregnancy!
Why are you high risk? Hypertensive since age 25...30 now
When is/was your first MFM appointment? my high risk consult is 9/10
What are you looking forward to the most in pregnancy? movement, it eases my anxiety so much
What are you looking forward the least? non stress tests and them freaking out over a small change in my BP with NO change in my protein (i'm talking 5 "points" higher then normal, obviously its a concern if it stays high...but when you freak me out at the beginning of the appt because its a "little high" of course its going to be high later in the appt as well.
What are your feelings towards being high risk? kinda ambivalent this time, I was freaked out by it last pregnancy but I feel like they are managing it much better already and I know the signs and symptoms to look for so I feel more prepared to advocate for myself.
