Outed on Facebook

I sent a PRIVATE message on FB to my brother about our ultrasound results and the baby's heartbeat. He replied in a PUBLIC comment "congrats on the baby news!"  Well I guess it's out now! 

Anyone else been publicly outed by someone?

Underwent Gastric Bypass 01/06/2014 to help with PCOS and weight.  Lost 186 lbs - had to TTA for 1 year
Burned the bench 01/20/15 - Medicated Cycle with Clomid and HCG trigger shot on 02/08/2015

    WTH? I'd be furious. 

    We're not telling our families until I'm 12 weeks, when I wouldn't really mind being outed anyways ;)

    I haven't been outed yet, but I think I'm going to change my settings so no one can post on my wall for the time being! I'm 9w today and I really just want to get to 12w before going public!

    This is why I'm not even telling family until after my dr. appt. when I'll be at least 9 weeks. Then I'll slowly tell people warning them all that I don't want the news out. But at least if it does slip out I'll be a little farther along :)

    Oh no! You seem to be taking this well.
    I would be so mad considering my "Facebook friends" are the last group of people I plan to tell... If at all. I haven't been outed yet and I hope it doesn't happen.

    To his credit he's a fb newbie - i don't think it even occurred to him that he was letting the cat out of the bag.

    We still need to tell his parents. I've told everyone that knows so far NO FACEBOOK!!! My mom keeps asking if we've told his parents yet. She's so excited and wants too spill the beans about our little "bean"!

    We have only two people that know and it'll stay that way hopefully until 12 weeks for this reason. Sorry this happened to you!

    That's why NO ONE knows but my parents. DH isn't even allowed to tell his parents until 12wks. We probably won't even post anything on FB until we know the gender (I'm PgAL, so I plan on waiting longer than most to announce this time)!

    Oh no! I'd be so upset .i haven't told anyone yet minus my bffs. We are also waiting a bit longer to tell family and when we do tell I want a strict policy no Facebook my whole pregnancy. Unless I decide otherwise. It's a challenge with all the social media these days!!

    I haven't told many people except my close relatives....but I think i'm going to start telling people next week when i'm 9 weeks...I saw the baby on an u/s and the heart beat was strong and everything looked good so I feel that everything should be fine...now I know that something still could happen but i'm still going to tell everyone....I would be really angry if somone posted on my wall like that and I didn't want anyone to know.

    I would kill him :))

    I was outed my last pregnancy. I had some FB friends from infertility forums and one of them just said " congrats on your pregnancy" I deleted it fast :)) but one of my DH`s friends saw the news and SPREADED it  among his other friends.

    I almost kind of outed MYSELF last week.  We haven't told ANYONE yet, nobody even knows we were trying or thinking about kids.  Ever since my BFP I have been posting baby stuff from pinterest on to a private board.  The other day I accidentally posted a picture of a nursery to my recipe board.  I started freaking out and couldn't figure out how to delete it on my phone.  EEK!  Luckily my husband was calm enough to figure out how to delete it on his tablet before anyone noticed (hopefully).  I know it's not the same as being outed on facebook but I can relate to how panicked you must have been!!

    I outed myself on Facebook by accident. I pulled it down as soon as I could but 3 friends saw it. I was pretty panicked but I made peace with it now. Maybe it is really naive thinking but I just have a gut feeling that this baby is sticking in for the long haul. This is my second pregnancy and while I am aware of all the risks I am not super worried. I guess that helps me not worry about those people finding out. I am 8 weeks now and we saw a heartbeat several days ago.
