Totally random question, I know. When should we be giving them a pillow to sleep on? DD sleeps with one of my shirts every night and I notice that she has been balling it up and resting her head on it quite often - that's what made me think of it.
I don't remember when I gave the older kids a pillow. All of my kids sleep on their stomachs so they just push them out of the way. Probably a little after one, I'll give DD2 a pillow in a few months. But it will be pretty flat.

my LO has had a pillow since about 7 months. I just have it tucked under his crib sheet. I started when he had a cold to elevate and just does way better with it. I asked my pedi and she said it was fine.
Sean is sleeping with a Pillow Pet right now. Sometimes he's on it, sometimes he's not. At about six months, he would bunch up his lovey and sleep on it. If he had an A&A blanket in his crib, he'd bunch that up and sleep on it. One day Ethan tossed the Pillow Pet in the crib and it's been there ever since (maybe two months now).
In the past, we've given pillows around 18 months, in preparation for moving to a toddler bed at 24 months. We'll likely do the same with the baby and baby-to-be.
DS got a pillow pet & an Ugly Doll at 1 yr old. He used them as pillows.
DD, knock on wood, is a really good sleeper without one, so I am not fucking with that anytime soon. She does have this big flat owl pillow thingy though, that she could use as a pillow if needed.
DD moves around so much and sleeps on her stomach she probably wouldn't end up with her head on it anyway. I'll probably wait a few more months.
My DD does the same, so it's probably not worth worrying about for a few more months. I will start looking around for a flat pillow and see how she does with it in a little while.
W sleeps on his stomach most of the time, but I've seen him put his head on his seahorse like a pillow a few times. Although, sometimes he also lays with his body completely on the horse, so I'm not sure.
