late intro, looking forward to getting to know you

Hi everyone, I'm currently 16 wks with my second child. I'm due February 9th and expecting to have a rcs around the 2nd. My husband and I have been married since Sept of 2009 and been together since 2001. We are so excited to have a sibling for our daughter.

I posted fairly regularly in my bmb ( April 2011) and I am hoping to meet some moms to talk babies with. I'm currently lost in toddler land....lol.

I've mostly just lurked here and there because I could not remember my email or password that I used 2 years ago....whoops! Finally figured it out and thought I would introduce myself.

    Congrats, and welcome!  It's amazing what all you can forget from pregnancy to pregnancy, & having toddler brain on top of pregnancy brain is twice the fun!

    She is very excited , she tells everyone she is having a "baby brudder" so we will be hopefully finding out at the a/s to help prepare her. Toddlers are tough, I'm actually more concerned about her than i am dealing with a newborn. She will turn 3 about two months after baby comes. Makes me scared!

    Don't be too worried...toddlers are tough; they bounce back pretty easily!  I think we spend more time worrying about them than they take to get adjusted.  My DD JUST turned 2 when we had DS & she'd had been told by everyone that she was getting a sister (even though that didn't feel right to me) & she never questioned it when she met baby in the hospital & it was a BOY!  The baby bought her 2 gifts, which she loved & you could see the wheels spinning (the BABY bought ME a gift? He must LOVE me!), & she was VERY possessive & interested in him from day one.  Just like that when we got home, she stopped using diapers & potty trained, b/c she didn't have time for diapers now that she had a baby to care for, & the baby needed the diapers.  She was awesome with him.  She'd lay on the couch with her arm around him & watch Sesame Street or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  They can really surprise you.

    Kedra this is very good to know. I almost feel.....guilty for knowing I'm going to be rocking her world. The gifts are a great idea, I will add that to my to-do list. I am definitely hoping to have her PT by then. Currently it isn't going well. Thank you for the support. :)

    Welcome and congrats! I lurked for awhile at first as well because I couldn't log in.  They were in the process of making changes and Idk what was going on but it just wouldn't work.

    Welcome! I'm in a similar boat, but DS turns 3 right before the baby. We're terrible twosing pretty hard here so I'm hoping I've past the worst of that by the time LO arrives. They are resilient though and I know I've heard such heart warming stories about toddlers and new babies. I can't wait!

    Welcome! You and I have a lot in common. I met DH in 2000, and we got married in 2008. I've got a 2011 baby too (and 2009). Your daughter is adorable too, those cheeks!

    Oh no I have no idea what my siggy even looks like. I only use my mobile and I don't see anyone's siggys. Does anyone know if I can see it on my phone?

    Welcome!  My DS will be turning 2 in November and I haven't even begun to think of how I'm going to handle two!  That is so cute that your DD is excited for her "baby brudder" though!
