Losing weight

Hello everyone! I have lost all my baby weight but seem to be stuck on trying to lose additional weight. Does anyone have any good workout DVDs or weight lose tips that they would recommend. Im starting to feel defeated! Thank you

    As for DVDs, there are a lot of good ones through beachbody.com. I have Power 90 and 10 Minute Trainer. Good quick workouts that get the job done. There's a new one called T25 that has 25 minute workout that are supposed to be good. But there are a bunch others that there's usually something for everyone, depending on what you like to do and what your goals are.

  • DH and I are doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and I've lost about 5 lbs so far without being super dedicated about it! We're also trying to eat a little healthier and we've been doing some more heavy duty housework, so all of those are contributing. I gained 55 lbs, and I only have 15 more to lose to get to pp weight!

    When did you start seeing results from the Shred? I am on day 7 and have gained two pounds instead. :( DH tells me it's probably muscle... I hope he is right.

  • FYI, what you eat has a much larger bearing on weight loss than exercise does.  I highly recommend weight watchers!

    I think that what I am eating is having an effect on my progress (or lack thereof). Was it you, JSS1002, who said to avoid bread in the other exercise thread? Well, I did some reading and am trying to stay away from all that today. I'm starving lol. And I have come to the realization that there is an absurd amount of junk food in our kitchen. I am seriously regretting baking brownies the other day... They are calling my name. -.-
  • FYI - I'm just doing WW online and have managed to lose 10 lbs since early July. And that was without exercising very much bc I was not able to. I highly recommend trying ww!

    I'm sure it will work for you! I think I am the only one on here who has managed to sabotage it somehow, lol. And I would love to join something like WW but the extra cost is what I am worried about.
  • I'm doing WW as well and have lost 9 lbs since July. It's great!

    Online only is cheaper. I need the accountability of the meetings though. Sparkpeople is a free weightloss site. They give you a tracker to track calories and all that.

  • It's just about calories in vs calories out, folks. You need to burn / not consume 3500 calories below your basal metabolic rate to lose a pound. WEight Watchers makes this very easy to do. I lost 72 lbs on WW. You don't have to give up bread,but empty carbs like that are a very easy way to reduce calories.

  • Sparkpeople (Free) will also accomplish this. But WW is very affordable -- about $10 / week,or you can do online which I think is $50 for three months. You don't need special food or anything else.
