Lifting then spotting-rant

I am a teacher and today we moved into our new classrooms. with no help I had to move a bunch of furniture around. When I got home I had a couple of brown spots when I wiped. I'm just so mad because although I told my principal that I was pregnant he still didn't offer to have someone help. I didn't want to tell him this early but I thought I had no choice. I'm frightened by the spotting and all the boxes that I have to start moving tomorrow. Between that and my fatigue I want to cry! This sucks!

    I'm sorry to hear this. I was really nervous moving into my room too but luckily I have a very good friend who is a coworker so I asked him to move stuff for me. I was so scared of the same thing happening. That's so crappy your principal didn't help you out. Maybe you can confide in a male coworker to help tmrw?

    Sorry you have to deal with that :( Do you have any friends/family than can help out? I'm a teacher in a new classroom and I had my sisters come down one day and help me move stuff/clean stuff. What about fellow teachers? Anyone you could ask to help you with some boxes?
    Otherwise just straight-up ask the principal to get someone to help you move (janitor or whomever). He might just not realize that you need help. Prayers as you go through this!

    Aww I'm sure your ok sweetie but note to self take it easy from now on. I know that you don't wanna be the dramatic pregnant chick "I can't lift" but when it comes to you and your personal life outside of work you need to take care of yourselfz

    Thanks. Maybe I'll be more direct with him. He's a guy and sometimes they aren't the most aware. I also might talk to our vice principal. She's a women and a mother so she might be able to solve my problem a lot more smooth than her male boss.

    That was my biggest fear today, too. I was allowed to go in and set up my classroom today; however, they waxed the floors this summer so all the furniture was on its side in the middle of the classroom. I started dragging desks and a janitor popped his head in the classroom and said, "Be careful scratching the floors." And I responded, "Then please help." I had a heavy bookshelf and he said, "I'm not moving that. It was so hard to move this summer." I ended up moving it by myself. Also, I had about 5 heavy boxes/crates to bring in from my car and I'm on the 4th floor and the elevator is being replaced. Fortunately, another janitor saw me and offered to help with his dolly.
    I came home and expressed my concern to my DH and I think I made him really worried. I am not spotting, but I keep checking like crazy because I'm so scared.
    Good luck with everything, and hopefully the spotting is nothing. Also, enjoy your school year.
