I had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago and everything was good, but I feel like this little girl is just so still all the time it scares me and my husband still can't feel her move. Is this normal?
I am having the same fears and this is my second pregnancy. I feel her sometimes, but definitley not like my son. I do have an at home doppler so I have been able to check the heartbeat and its good...I guess we will just have to wait a bit longer :-)
Sure seems like there really is no "normal", is there? I'll be 20 weeks on Thursday with my first, and have yet to feel any movement (as far as I know - I don't really know what to expect or look/feel for). I have my regular monthly checkup at the dr tomorrow, and am anxious to confirm everything is OK. I know every pregnancy is different, but it's so nerve-wracking hearing everyone else talk about how they've felt movement by now, and all my family members asking if I've felt anything... It's so hard to hurry up and wait!
This is my fourth. They are all different. I didn't feel my first until after 20 weeks...and I tried desperately to feel for him before that! I felt my 3rd and this baby girl at 16 weeks loud and clear. I'm 19 weeks now and I can feel her every day, but between 16 and 18 weeks it was on and off. I would feel her little bumps for a few days and then nothing for a day or too. It worried me so I asked my doctor. She said that there's so much room for baby to move around in there that there's no way I'd feel every movement at this time. If she decides she's going to face inward all day, for example, I probably won't feel much at all.
My second was super-active. He's 8 now, but I know that this baby is way less active than he was.
I'm 20 weeks today and I still haven't really felt little sprout moving except for a couple of times. After four miscarriages it's a little scary but I wouldn't stress too much. I can't wait for the days when I can feel the little one kicking up a storm.
I felt my little turkey on Thanksgiving Day, felt like there was an explosion in my belly... like a balloon was blown up and then popped. Couldn't feel her from the outside though. On 11/26 we found out she is a girl and it wasn't until 11/28 or so when I felt the "balloon" blowing up again and I laid back and put my hands on my belly with a little bit of pressure. Both my husband and I felt her. She's rolling around as I type this lol. It does almost feel like gas though, it's gross, but when I feel it in my belly at the same time it makes me feel like I have to poop... but I know it's her as soon as I put my hands on her. Once you start feeling it you will know! All throughout my pregnancy the u/s would show her swimming and dancing and rolling all around so I figured I would feel that.. but it took some time! I am 20 weeks this week. Good luck with your pregnancy!
I'm 20 weeks and I haven't felt anything yet. The lady that did our 19 week scan said that I probably won't feel her until 25 weeks because my placenta is on top of my baby between her and my belly. It can be positioned in lots of different places. If it is under the baby then you feel kicks at a much earlier stage. She said the placenta was absorbing all her little movements. Anyways, she said this is shielding me from feeling anything until she is a bit bigger. I was relieved to here all this so I would def. wait on worrying until you have your ultrasound done and asses where everything is. It was so amazing to see how active she was when we did the ultrasound considering I'm not feeling anything.
I am at 20 weeks and I haven't felt anything either. At my last appointment my OB told me that my placenta was in an anterior placement meaning there is basically a jelly filled bag between the baby and me. She said that I probably wouldn't feel the baby until at least 22 weeks!
I think it's natural to wonder if she is ok when you can't feel her. At 20 weeks, I usually feel mine in the morning and at night. Sometimes I don't feel much. I'm trying to relax and not base my peace on his/her movement. At times it's hard to tell if it's gas or the baby. Every mom I've talked to has confirmed the same thoughts and worries.

I am 20 weeks and my doctor told me the same thing. Only felt him once after getting out of the shower and relaxing very still stretched out
