April 2014 Moms

Any fertility moms nervous...

To leave your fertility dr. I am 7W2D and was discharged from my fertility dr and referred to my reg ob whom I will see this Thursday. They say you only see the dr once a month for the first 8 months. Will I just be neurotic until 12 weeks? This is going to be a long 5 weeks!! Anyone else have the same feelings?

  • I'm nervous. They know what I've been through to get this pregnancy, my OB will not!

  • It's so tough because you get used to seeing the doctor and nurses every week then.....BAM!!!! Reality sets in and it's once a month :( after having ultrasounds three weeks in row, I'm anxious to see my little coffee beans again. We're having twins so ill see an MTM doctor in addition to my OB but it's kind of a shock not to be at the doctor every week!!! :) hang in there ladies!!!
  • Totally! We are finally pregnant after 4 embryo transfers. I love my fertility clinic! Tomorrow is our last ultrasound with them at 8 weeks ( fingers crossed applesauce that baby's still growing) its going to be hard to see a regular doctor once a month. I am slightly nori tic after all we have been thru and like the frequent visits with my fert doctor for reassurance.
Congrats all you fertility girls here, its been a long tough battle but we made it!!
  • It will be very bittersweet to leave my RE and his staff. They have been amazing. My nurse has gone above and beyond to the point of having the lab call her personal cell on her day off with the results of my beta when I had some heavy bleeding early on. My RE is very straight forward and is such a calming presence. I will really miss him. I really like my OBGYN so I'm not worried unless I have to switch to a high risk ob (possibility due to age and other issues).
  • We had two failed treatments and got graced by a late ovulation. But yea, I'm nervous about the whole 1 US every 4 weeks. I don't like it. My dr put me on progesterone to help preserve the pregnancy before the placenta takes over
  • @LWAF2011
I'm on progesterone too. Are you taking the pills or the cream? I was on the cream twice a day and now just once a day. I hate it!!! I can't wait to be done September 18th!!!
  • Right there with you.

  • Progesterone VG tablets. Messy!
  • I went through IF with my first and my second was a surprise.  It is really hard to go from seeing the RE on a regular basis to feeling like a number seeing an OB only once a month.  It is nerve racking that first tri but it does get easier.  You will stress over every little cramp or lack of symptom and you will wonder why your OB doesn't do an ultrasound at every appointment because your RE did.  You'll get through it all I promise but the pain from all of it never really goes away. I'm still nervous as hell about this little one.  Your OB's office is there for all of your questions if you have them even while you wait for your first appointment.  If something happens and your OB can't get you in and your panicked call your RE because they won't fully abandon you.  <3 to you all as you move through first tri and graduate from your RE.
