Need a new workout...Suggestions?

I feel like I need to spruce myself up! What do you ladies do to get yourself feeling and looking good? I have done Pilates and want to pick up on it again. I've never tried yoga. LO and I go for walks, but I really want something to make me feel good about myself. I really want to get a pole...where's Jessie when we need her!?

  • I've enjoyed Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred...I've gotten pretty good results in a short period of time (feeling fitter and stronger in addition to moderately firming up and losing a few inches) and I like that it's only 20 minutes a day so it's easy to fit in during naptime (though since I started not doing it every day I find my progress has really slowed, probably because it's so short it needs to be done pretty much every day to keep seeing results).

  • I love Ripped in 30 (I personally think the workouts are better than the 30 Day Shred, but both are good for a quick workout).  Do you belong to a gym, or have weights at home?  HIIT workouts are such a good way to burn fat and tone up.

  • I do yoga and love it. It is a workout and you use your muscles more than you would think.  I enjoy the quiet/self centering approach to yoga.  It is great for stretching muscles and relaxing so you may want to try it after a pilates class or a run.  I recently heard about yogalates which sounds like it may be a good workout.  You may want to consider that since you already have some pilates experience.

I agree with the HIIT workouts. My H and I are doing them now and I do them with a kettle bell. Holy crap is it hard! After the first time I did it, I could barely walk or bend for 3 days - my legs were so sore from all the squats and leg work. I found a lot of good routines online. It's a quick workout and you burn tons of calories while toning at the same time.
  • Awesome! Thanks ladies! I want to try them all now!

  • Have you tried zumba? It's fun and you get to shake your stuff and play. Good workout too ;)
I haven't but I have seen advertisements and it looks so much fun! I'm going to have to look into it!

  • I'm starting kickboxing next week! I got a cheap groupon for it, so it's cheap to try it out!
