I hate maternity clothes

So, I am not needing maternity clothes now, as I am only about 7 weeks.  However, I pulled out my maternity clothes from my pregnancy with DS (back in 2009/2010).  Some of the clothes, I could probably use again, but some of it is in pretty rough shape.  My sister used them after me and she just didn't take too great of care of them.

So, I started just kind of browsing online and everything is pretty hideous.  If I do find something I want, they want to charge me an arm and a leg.  My main concern is clothing for work, once my uniform doesn't fit anymore.  Anyone have any good places for maternity clothes?  I already looked at Old Navy and Target.

  • I've had a lot of luck at Kohls.
  • Believe it or not, I've had fantastic luck at resale shops in my area.  Find a couple of well-kept children's/women's resale shops and you will be soooooo grateful.  Practically new, high-end clothes at a fraction of the cost.  :-)
  • I never could find any in store that I particularly liked, but if you try motherhood.com Jessica Simpson has a line that I did like, especially for winter pregnancies. I don't know what kind of budget you're working with but also pinkblushmaternity.com has some really cute fall and winter wardrobe, and fairly often they will run discounts of different kinds, I'm a bargain hunter so I start shopping early for things I know I will need later and more often than not you find a lot of deals buying things that aren't necessarily in season.
  • Oh! Forever21 has a maternity line now too, I can't remember if it's even worth looking at but I know they have it available online. & they normally have fairly priced clothing.
  • Jessica - This Pink Blush site looks awesome!  Thanks for the info!

Aww darn I just looked for the forever 21 line. .. apparently it was discontinued because people felt it was promoting teen pregnancy!

    Edit: stupid autocorrect!
  • Seriously - can't I get some cheap trendy maternity clothes? ? I'd even let then id me if that's what it takes :)
  • Lol no kidding I'm legal now. (: boohoo.
  • H&m has some cute stuff and they are online now

  • I lived in my gap maternity jeans - so comfy!
  • I have a hard time finding plus sized maternity that's not completely hideous. I am picking up pieces wherever I can find them.

  • I just ordered 2 pairs of jeans and a top from Boden...not cheap but not too terrible either

  • I'm trying so hard to avoid all the elastic waist jeans and everything. I keep telling myself I can get by wearing a couple sizes bigger than my normal sizes but I know I probably can't lol. I think I'm going to stick with leggings and cardigans for most of the pregnancy. I'm 18 I don't want to be wearing standard maternity clothes that people 5+ years older than me will be wearing (no offense!) so I'm excited to hear about this h&m line!

  • ^^ oh there it is! I was trying to remember that site you posted about the other day- forgot to bookmark. They do have some cute stuff. I I think they had a decent amount of stuff on sale that would work for winter/early spring too

  • I don't plan on shopping for "maternity clothes". Well let me rephrase that: ill get basic maternity clothes and for really cute fashionable stuff I'm ging to shop at Ashley Stewart (plus size women's clothing) they have lots of pretty things that I think will serve as excellent maternity wear
  • LOFT has some cute things. Many of them are more than I would like to spend. Still hoping to get a few basic pieces and maybe some on sale.

  • I bought maternity pants from Destination Maternity & Motherhood and wow.. they are amazing! And I was only 6 weeks preggers when I bought them hehe! But hey, when your skinny and then get preggo, you end up being all belly and can't wear your normal jeans!
  • I love Ann Taylor Loft maternity clothes!
  • Loving this post! I was starting to wonder where to go. We have a store in the mall here that is just way over priced
  • I think I'm going to live in stretchy leggings. It's most comfy
  • Try picklesandicecream a bit pricey but very good quality
