want to nurse again, but my daughter isn't interested. Any idea's?

My daughter is 4 weeks tomorrow and i havent been able to breastfeed her, but i still have milk and want to feed her. Only problem is that she is  now totally stuck to her bottle and wont even open her mouth to try, on top of it all i have very flat nipples so she has nothing to try and grab. Should i just give up and get over myself or does any other mom have and ideas how i can get her interested?

  • I would call a lactation consultant and get help. For flat nipples, try breast shells. You put them on in between feeding (take them of before nursing) and they draw out the nipple. Pumping a little bit can also help pull them out. Good luck!

  • Try a nipple shield it worked for us!
  • I def recommend a nipple shield. My nipples were very flat and this helped my son tremendously. It goes right over your nipple while you nurse. It can be tricky to keep it in place since it's flexible material so be sure to warm it with your hands before putting it on. I also agree with pp about seeing a lactation consultant. They can be a big help. If all else fails, still pump if you can because any little bit of breast milk is great for your baby.
