Rant and rave..

Random photog rant: (ignore if you must)  Senior pictures, yes it's a great time in your childs life. But do you really think cliche pictures of her squatting on a train track is going to sum up her high school years? Did she hang out there often? Is she a hobo? Perhaps her lifes ambition is to be a train conductor after graduation? If so then i'll gladly schlump on down to the tracks and have her straddle them, dodge a train or two and risk life and limb all for the sake of photography and artistic liscense. Otherwise..no I will not take your daughters picture on the TRACKS, it's not my style!!!!!

Your turn! :D

Our senior pics were done at the school. I feel cheated:) We had the norm done with the fake fancy dress and the cap and gown pic.

That's how ours was to, nothing like what people want today. I did just buy a cap and gown set up though..but usually the kids get those done with yearbook pics so I doubt i'll ever use them.

Lol...we had family photos done one year on the tracks. But in our defense, my dad is a train engineer, and my brother is probably going to work for the railroad once he leaves the military.

But yes, I see your point. Lol

My rant: Our office manager was out today because she was sick, and our boss left at 1. There is NOTHING to do. I was hoping to leave early today, but that went to pot when bossman left because that left me in charge of the elderly lady (who should really be retired, but that's a whole other story) and sitting here waiting to do the server backups before I can leave. I've spent the past 2 hours on Pinterest organizing my pins. Ugh.

  • Oh Lord.

Let me see... Mine were... In a barn window. Ummm 'scuse you little BubbaJug, but you aren't any type of country.

A swing, hanging from a tree... Ok fine, whatever.

In the studio with a large Asian inspired umbrella...What?

My rant for today... Took the dogs to the vet for their comprehensive exams, swell. The vet calls and tells me that Elliott has an ear infection and that they will need to scope and treat, ok, absolutely. He hasn't been shaking his head, scratching his ears, nothing, and he is the most dramatic fellow you've ever met. But ok. So I get to the Dr to pick them up and I ask which ear the infection is in (so I know which one to put the drops in) and she goes "oh you can just put them in both"... I'm sorry, what? Does he have an infection in both ears? Am I the worst mom ever? "You can just put them in both"...WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? Does he have an ear infection in both or neither, am I dumping pixi sticks in his ears or is it real medicine. Ugh. Not to mention that they misquoted me on the phone and now his maybe ear infection has cost me $110.

    Harumph.

I can sympathize on the ear thing. My oldest dog gets mites really bad and they flare up from time to time. It's only one ear and the vet tells us the same thing. I can't tell you how much we've spent in ear medicine for him.

Same here.  They also did not do any photoshopping so the huge zit on my chin was immortalized.
  • My rant: Dress alterations. When I ordered my bridesmaid's dress for my brother's wedding I was really in between sizes (4 on top, 8 on the bottom). I ordered a 6 hoping the top would fit perfectly and the hips would maybe need to be let out a little. I had my fitting Saturday and they had to let out the waist as expected, shorten the straps, do my hem and put cups in. Total bill was $185. For an effing dress I'll wear once. I didn't take into account that there are 3 layers to hem and let out. FML.

    UGH!

Tell me about it. First of all, dress sizes are wonky, 2nd of all... Ugh.  They made me order a 14 for my SIL's wedding when I was fitted because that was the only size that was going to fit on top... I told them to order 2 sizes smaller because I was still pumping. They refused. $140 in alterations later...

    So annoying.
