FTM morning sickness

Hello...so I am trying to gauge my level of morning sickness (more like ALL DAY sickness).  I just feel nausea all day long. What is helping me is: sipping ginger ale, kettle potato chips, sour patch candies, crackers....my question is, how often do you use your remedy?  It seems like these things work for me for a few minutes. And then I need another one. I think the longest I have gone is 10 minutes without another sip, potato chip, sour patch (whatever I am using that day). Sorry if this sounds silly. I am just wondering if I should be looking for a new remedy or if this is how it is for most of you!

Re: FTM morning sickness

  • I am going through the same - steady nausea all day and needing to kind of graze on something all day as to not let it get worse. I also use the Tums Freshers mints - those last a little bit longer and soothe. Other than that, just have a little bit constantly - it's all you can do to keep it at bay. Cold stuff seems to work better for me, so I'll slowly eat applesauce or a pickle or sip ginger ale.

  • thanks for responding. Damn this is a long haul!!!!!!! I will have to try the tums freshers mints
  • Mine is only in the AM and it seems like there is nothing I can do to stop it... It's triggered by breathing, thinking, moving, etc. lol I haven't found a thing to help... But once it's out, it's over till the next morning. Thanks for sharing your tips... I def. need hard candies
  • My SIL keeps telling me to get ginger tea - ginger is soothing to the stomach.  I'm picking some up today.
  • Its different for everyone but on bad days, I also have to keep on top of it with whatever I'm using.

  • I'm constantly nauseous but I tried a Popsicle when i got home and it really worked.
  • I've turned to Cheez- Its for the moment but unless I want to gain 100 lbs, I need to figure something else out.

  • I feel like I am constantly eating to keep my nausea at bay. Anything bland. And ice water.
  • I've had to constantly eat to keep from feeling like a bag of crap.  Just do what you have to do to feel as well as you can.  When I was pregnant with DS I subsisted on Miss Vicki's sea salt chips and slurpees.  When I finally hit the second trimester I was overjoyed to rediscover my taste for food

  • Yes, I literally felt like death and was hesitant at first to take the zofran my doc prescribed because it gave me a killer migraine the first time I took it. Once I kept it in my system, first thing in the am and every 6 hours after that, I felt like a new person. Waves still come and go, but they're not as debilitating as they once were... Hope you feel better soon!
  • I've had the all-day nausea, too. I ended up calling my good friend who just went through awful morning sickness and she suggested hard candy. Life Savers have been working a little bit when I don't have immediate access to food, but otherwise eating something everytime I feel it coming on works best for me. For some reason a little bit of avocado has been helping calm the nausea for a bit longer than other things. I want to be eating right, but it's so hard right now to eat balanced when only a handful of foods are appetizing!
