So, so sorry you're getting these. I get them occasionally and I hate them. All that seems to help me is the classic dark room, cold washcloth, silence, and preferably sleep, so I can wake up and be feeling better. I never found medication to really help.
Hope you don't have many more during your pregnancy.

I'm so sorry! I have them 3-4 times a week on top of my daily chronic tension headaches. All I can take is Tylenol which doesn't help and promethazine which is for nausea but was the first thing to help my migraines. It's safe to take during pregnancy.
Soo, interestingly enough (and double check with your MD as I am in no way giving medical advice!), but my OB today suggested adding magnesium supplement in addition to PNV to control headaches. Won't get rid of them once they start, but hopefully will prevent them from starting as often? Might be worth looking into!
I know for me tylenol doesn't usually do much. Maybe try a tylenol, shot of caffeine, cold cloth on head and dark room. Oh, and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

This. And my eye gel mask that I keep refrigerated before use.
I have a prescription for Compazine but I'm trying not to take it.
My ob wrote a prescription for fioricet. He said it was safe during pregnancy, but, after a quick google search, I've decided that it will only be a last resort if ever. I'll definitely ask about magnesium, I've read about that quite a bit when my migraines were more frequent
I take magnesium daily to help prevent migranes. This along with several other vitamins were prescribed to me before I got pregnant to control migranes. I was told to stop all but magnesium with pregnancy, so it can certainly help.
