The Nose Knows!

Hello everyone! I survived my camping weekend and when I got home my nose was in over drive. I've always had a super sensitive nose but just opening my fridge or taking a shower has turned into a true assault on my senses. Does anyone know how long this super human sense of smell might last? Has anyone found a way to keep it at bay/make it less sensitive? Nothing seems to help and everything is setting me running off to the bathroom or gagging. my co-worker completely across the large office and 4 cubicle rows away from me had tuna salad for lunch and I still smell it an hour later. I've taken to eating cold foods because they have a slightly less strong scent. Did you know grapes have a scent? well they do, and I can smell it across the room :( I'm going crazy!

  • I don't have any good ideas for lessening it, but my sense of smell has been superhuman lately too. Maybe try chewing gum (if you can stand any)? Cold foods do have a little less obvious smell. If you can stomach it, maybe try carrying a handkerchief with a drop of essential oil on it in your pocket.

  • most gum has artificial sweeteners that give me headaches, the kinds that I could stand now make me feel sick prior to getting it in my mouth. the essential oil thing might work. I know citrus doesn't set me off so maybe something in the orange or lemon family. Thanks!

  • If someone at work is eating nasty food or, ahem, makes a bad smell, I'll discreetly apply Burt's Bees and dab some right under my nose... Mmmm minty
