What would you buy??!?

My in-laws just gave me my bday present - $250 - I'm only allowed to buy something for myself. But, Ive spent so much time buying things for the kids, I have no idea what I want... clothes are out mostly, Im working on losing 20 lbs and want to wait for xmas gifts to get some new clothes.

if you had a magical $250 laying around, what would you buy yourself???

  • Babysitter, manicure, pedicure, eyebrow wax. I want clothes, but if I didn't, probably some kindle books, new video games, someone to clean my house really well, kitchen stuff, accessories for my camera ... just pick a few. Haha. Clearly, I haven't bought anything for myself in a really, really long time.

This literally made me LOL.  OP- I would buy some new shoes, some cute accessories, a purse, a spa day, some new make-up, I nice coat (I love pea coats).

  • Make up, pedi, steam mop kitchen stuff with what's left over.
  • A purse. I never need a new one, but it's always the first stop I make in a store. Next would be a food processor and baking pans.

  • Honestly, if it were me I'd probably put it in my chequing and debate about what to buy for so long that I'd eventually forget it was there.
What I'd buy right now though would be a new pair of toms, new make up, a hair cut, maybe a new kindle. Or I'd put it towards getting a new phone

oooh yes! I'm dying for a camel color pair like these.  Although I'm sure I wouldn't mind spending the money on a designer purse.

  • I'd be so torn... professional carpet cleaning, maid service, new purse and wallet... I actually might be able to get all of those things for that...
  • This content has been removed.
  • A hair cut and a year of ipsy glam bag... The gift that keeps on giving!

  • I was going to say Le Creuset, too @mathlete! Although $250 would get you ... A spatula? :P
  • Full body massage, and some pretty plants for each side of my door for LO's partaaayyy in a few weeks. The doorway is super plain and we moved in recently, therefore the funds are low everywhere....that's why I'd be willing to spend some of "my" money on the house stuff.

  • Definitely someone to deep clean the house!  I might even book more than one appt right away.  Perfume, get my hair cut and colored, I would try to stretch it and redo my bathroom.  Or get my kitchen painted.  It could use a fresh coat.  I'm with you on the clothes, I don't really want anything right now.  But, I would also like Photoshop, or a new laptop, or a kindle.  Wow, I have more wnats than I thought!  Oh, and some new bras and underwear at VS.

  • I'd put it toward an iPad. But if I had to just use the $250, I'd hit the spa.

Nah, we have an outlet here so all of my pieces have been under $125. They are seconds, but you can't really tell. The "worst" piece I have has a blue dot on the inside of the pan where the enamel is white (i.e., it dripped when they were making it). The other two pieces I have have pin hole sized places where the colored enamel didn't cover. I mean, it's ridiculous that they are considered seconds, but whatever - saved me money. ;)

I jut got an email from cooking.com with lots of le crueset under $150. My only enamel cast iron is a Dutch oven by kitchen aid. $40. Love it. I have lots of regular cast iron though.
  • Ok, I thought about this more.

$110 a year of Ipsy Glambag
    $60 hair
    $35 manicure
$30 a couple shirts from Target

$15 misc. overages, lunch, or go buy a couple new plants for a window.  So basically, whatever makes you feel like you are pampering yourself :)
