Car seat opininos

my lo is outgrowing his carseat anyone have a convertible carseat brand that they really like that has good support and comfortable and is easy to clean up?

Re: Car seat opininos

  • We got a alpha omega elite for DS1 at that age. It worked well but then I realized the weight limit is 40 lbs which he almost is now so we had to get another one. That was ok because we just switched DS2 to it. However we needed a new seat for my parents car for both kids so I figured since we're eventually going to need new ones for our car we just bought new graco my ride 65s for all the cars for DS2. So we haven't used it yet but I'm really excited about t. I can rear face him to 40 pounds and then it's good up to 65 lbs. That should take him until DS1 doesn't need a booster and he can use that.

  • DS has the Diono Radian RXT in our car. He still fits in his infant seat, so we use that as our alternate seat in his grandparents' cars. We will need to get a new alternate soon as he is about to outgrow the height limit.

  • Heard the britax marathon was the best one to get. Don't have one yet though.

  • I had to get three convertibles. I got the Britax pavilion for me and I love it; the Graco my ride for grandparents, which is a nice seat for the price; and an Eddie Bauer seat for DH. DH has a mid-life crisis coupe, so we needed something pretty compact for his car. The Eddie Bauer fits the bill on that front, but I wouldn't want H in it for a longer trip.

  • We purchased the nextfit. I really like it, but it has deeper sides than most of the convertible car seats. So you have to lift up LO over the sides. Its a little bit of a issue now, but once LO can crawl into the seat himself it wont matter.

  • We have the Britax Boulevard. So far I like it.  Its big, we call it her la-z-boy, but I liked the safety features of it.

  • Diono Radian RXT. Steel frame so as safe as they come, can extend rear face, then forward face and turns into a booster. Only car seat we'll ever have to buy. Also, was able to use a 20% off coupon at Buy Buy Baby. Nice that Diono isn't on their exclusions list. I did a looooot of research. Before I thought I'd get a Britax or Peg Perego. I do have a Peg infant carrier that I love.

  • We have a Britax Boulevard for DS1 right now and rear face him.  He has no issues and usually sleeps the whole car ride.  DS2 just had a Evenflo Triumph for now.  It was DS1's alternate and we just haven't gotten a new one for him.  He seems to like it better than the boulevard though.  I think all the padding by the head (side pillows) makes him uncomfortable when he's trying to sleep.

  • We tried the Recaro out, but it sits up really high in our car and getting her in and out was difficult.
Another one for the Britax Marathon. We have that in the truck and it works great. I still use the bucket in my car, so we will be needing another convertable soon. We were thinking about the Recaro Proride I think it was...

  • I heard since these convertibles go up to 90 lbs seatbelts will be recommended instead of latch because latches were never meant for that much weight .
  • thank you for all helping me out Im now trying to decide between the maxi cosi pria 70 or the nextfit car seat. Has anyone had the maxi cosi?

No one carseat is safer than another. The safest carseat is the one that fits your car and baby correctly. I would recommend checking out the Facebook group, carseats for the littles. They can provide excellent information. We went with the Graco MyRide 65. Fits our car and baby great, plus I love the print and cup holders.
