any ideas? DD starts daycare soon and they'll be outside in the rainy weather often. we'll get a rain suit, but i'm wondering what to do about her feet?

edit: looks like robeez has them, but i can't see where they'd ship to canada...

Re: rain boots for pre/early walker?

  • My sister looked everywhere for rain boots for her daughter last spring when she was walking at 12 months. She could find nothing in a size 4. Everything was size 5 and higher.

    Sorry that wasn't much help!

    Good Luck!

  • @Stasi if I thought she'd keep those on for more than 10 seconds, I'd probably get them just to stop looking. Ok, not really, but the cute!

@CdnFarmGirl08 that's our trouble too! Kid is still in size 3!

Meh, if all else fails, I guess there's always ziplocs bags and elastic bands... Gotta stay classy

    @Stasi you mean these  :-bd
Hand-me-downs from my SIL. I also have a pair for Leo to wear late spring/summer.

Rain boots are really heavy and hard to walk in. James didn't start wearing them until he was close to 2.5.
I would do something like Keens for a one year old.

  • I'm in the same predicament.  My DD starts daycare tomorrow and needs rain boots, pants and a jacket.  I think I'm going to go with Stonz booties.

And a Muddy Buddy by Tuffo rain suit.  You can get them at TJ Kiddies.

  • thanks so much @Angelacm ! We're getting something similar to the Muddy Buddy, but those booties look like just the thing for her feet.
good luck with daycare tomorrow. we start next week *sob*

  • We waited on rain boots till they were about 2 years old.  Trying to get any kind of shoes on them before then was a struggle as it was.

  • Rain boots are really hard to walk in. I agree with other posters that I would probably look for something more like the Keens @hmp1 mentioned.

  • i looked at the keens - they're a good idea, but there ain't no way i'm dropping $100 on shoes for dd. i agree that regular rain boots would be a disaster though, so those stonz booties look like they may be a good solution

  • My 3.5 year old still has a tough time wearing rain boats because the are heavy and clunky. I would not send her to school in rain boots Those Bogs look like a great idea!
