I'm looking for stories of experience with this. If you are baby wearing what happens when you need to pick up the older child? Just sling them on your hip out of the way of the younger kid? Or is it even possible. I have a Beco Butterfly with a newborn insert and I'd like to be able to wear #2 around a lot, but wondering about logistics like lifting DD into a grocery cart or getting her in and out of a stroller while baby wearing. TIA!

Re: Baby wearing and young toddler
Like you said, when your older child needs to be picked up, you do it away from your body, on your hip, etc. Your toddler will get used to not being picked up as much pretty quickly!
I actually stopped picking up/carrying DS so much before DD was born in anticipation of this which did help.
