Abstinence before sperm extraction surgery

Ladies, what have your drs told you about abstinence before the DH's sperm extraction surgery? Is it the same as a SA?

My ER is Thursday as well. Told us to abstain (him too!) starting today.

Good question. My DH has his TESE in a week and we didn't receive any instructions on this either. Therefore I assumed that it didn't matter, because I figured they would have told us or included it in all the other instructions they gave us if it did matter.

@boyankl - We just spoke with our urologist today and he said there is no abstinence period needed before my DH's TESE (since the sperm is being taken from the testicles). You may want to call your urologist just to double check? Best wishes to you!
