I know it's early but I'm consider looking for nanny. Any helpful website?

I've heard care.com is good from a few friends.  I did not use it though because my daughter goes to daycare and that is where the new baby will go.

  • I hate stressing about child care. When you find a pediatrician see if they have why recs.

  • We chose licensed home daycares for several reasons. I found them through a local child care association and our state licensing website. But this is part of what I do for work, so I think I'm more familiar with those resources than most.

Tell me more! We have been fortunate to live near family and friends to watch our kids and I've been mostly home with them. We could be moving in the next year or so though and I get anxiety just thinking about someone else taking care of my kids. I've really considered just continuing to stay home even after I graduate until all of them are in school.

  • When looking for licensed care keep mind that you can always ask them if you can review their latest licensing check. They HAVE to show it to you (at least in WA). :) I work in licensed child care.

I think a lot of it is exclusive to where you live, but l would check into your local county and state child care databases. Some states have child care quality improvement initiatives or programs. Many states have subsidized child care programs. You can also check 211 for local child care referral (at least we can where we live...just google for something something in your neck of the woods).
If you find a few licensed places, as PP said, pull the licensing report which will give a full record of past complaints and inspections, as well as requesting their current inspection report.

I could say more but I'm on my phone and typing is a pain, but I may add more if I can think of anything else. :-)
