    Thanks for sharing this.  I got DS a "dressing teaching" doll that will be part of his "gift" from the LO when I am in the hospital.  Part of my thought in geting it was for the "dressing teaching" part (snaps, button, zipper, etc.) and part was for the doll aspect.  DS is very nurturing of his teddy bears, etc., and I thought it would be positive for him to have a "baby" to dote on while I am tied up with the new LO as well.  I can remind him to cuddle his baby when I am nursing LO, or changing, etc. 

    DH is not pleased, and I have been treated to many eyerolls.  I may send him the blog post and see if that helps.

    Thanks for sharing!  DS has a little boy baby doll that he loves to cover with a blanket and then pat its back while telling it "night night."  It's so sweet.  Thankfully DH hasn't been overly opposed to the doll but he did make a comment over the weekend when DS took the doll with him in the car.  DH was determined to not let the doll make it out of the car when we got to our destination...so still some training to do there.
    November 2010 - 10.5 week loss  o:) 
    October 2011 - DS (7)  <3 
    July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)  o:) 
    August 2015 - DD (3)  <3 
    April 2018 - 5 week loss o:)

    I hope it will! Guys have a lot of emotional/social baggage to deal with, too. Sometimes I forget.

    I was JUST thinking about getting DS a doll, he is only 8 months old...so I'm sure it will be more exciting to him in another 5 or 6 months but I think it's important for little kids, even boys to understand how to be caring and loving to those smaller then them...plus it can't hurt the process of teaching them how to be good fathers! Great post!

    We got DS this boy doll at Ikea, which he ignored until the baby came. Three other night, he tucked Boy in bed, brushed his teeth, took him potty, twice, have him a bath, and had me babysit him.
