How to cut out junk food?! HELP

I am about to enter my 9 week & I can't seem to be able to cut out the junk food, what healthy replacements do you ladies recommend/eat? This is my first pregnancy and I just want to have some healthy for my baby! I stop myself sometimes, but they seem to call out to me! & I was never a fan of junk.

  • I've just been trying to eat more fruit and veggies, I still allow myself some treats but not eat just anything I see like I did the first 4 weeks after I got my bfp, I gained 9 lbs in the first 4 weeks. Since Friday with eating more fruit etc. I've lost 3 lbs

  • Don't buy it and dong keep it in your house. Start meal planning and preparing your meals ahead of time. I always falter when I don't have something healthy that I can grab quickly. Keep fresh fruit and veggies handy so you can snack on those. Cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, broccoli, berries, apples, oranges. Also nuts instead of chips. Almonds, pistachios. Usually I can stay on a pretty good path if I start with a good breakfast. Try making those egg muffins. I put spinach, green peppers, onions, and sausage in mine.

  • I second the meal planning- we do it on a weekend, grocery shop to the list, and then there's no junk in the house.

My guilt-free treat is chocolate pudding- make it with skim milk and it's really not that bad for you.

  • Definitely meal plan as mentioned in PP.  I try not to buy junk food so its not in the house.  If it is, pregnant or not, I'll eat it.  Make yourself lunch to bring to work.  I find that I am more likely to choose something healthy for lunch in the morning (or evenings if I'm on top of it) than I am at lunchtime when I'm hungry and/or feeling tired.
  • I agree with the meal plans and not buying junk food. I'm a SAHM so having junk food around the house is just way too much temptation. Right now I'm just eating whatever I can keep down and since I don't have a huge appetite I'm not really eating a whole lot anyway. Before I was pregnant I would juice about once a day and get a good amount of veggies in that way. I plan to start doing that again once the morning sickness eases up. I've also taken advantage of pinterest to find healthy meals and it has been fun to try new recipes. One website I probably use the most is skinnytaste.com It's a blog with healthier food options and has very yummy recipes! Healthy doesn't have to be gross! GL!

  • For me I find that buying things already cut up and ready to eat helps. I think that's why people go for junk food because its so easy to grab on the go. I've been getting the ready made fruit platters which are great. Also Syrian bread and hummus are yummy and easy.

I love skinnytaste! All of her recipes are amazing!
  • A shake using all-natural whey protein gives you a lot of beneficial vitamins. I use almond milk, but regular milk or water is fine, too. If you can't stomach it in the morning (like me),try later in the day.
  • If I had this answer, I would be a millionaire and would not have gained 50lbs with my last pregnancy. My only advice is to eat less junk but not cut it out entirely. We give up a lot of fun food in pregnancy so take it easy on yourself.

  • Let yourself have treats. Keep emergency snacks like nuts on you when you're out and about.

  • I find sweet cravings can often be combated by some fruit. I usually try some fruit first, and then, if its just not going away, I'll let myself have it. Not keeping it in the house helps, because you think, am I really going to the store just to get this??
