Hi all! I haven't posted on here in a long time.
Anyway, DS2 has MSPI and has been on Nutramigen since 3 months old when I stopped nursing. Even after giving up dairy while nursing, he still had bloody stools. He's been great since on the Nutramigen, although we have been working with a dermatologist since to help his severe eczema. The allergist test at 3 months was negative for a true milk allergy.
This week I tried some WCM in a sippy cup at lunch and he'd take a few sips. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it. First day, he burped and spit up a little bit (which is weird for him) about 30 minutes after lunch. Day 2, he spit up a ton during his afternoon nap an hour or two after lunch. Day 3, my mom gave him some WCM again during dinner and he projectile vomited during dinner and during his bedtime bottle that evening. Day 4, we didn't give him any WCM, but he projectile vomited with his bedtime bottle. Tonight, same thing. No WCM all day, but projectile vomited tonight at bedtime.
I took him to the pedi today to get her opinion and she doesn't think it's a stomach bug since he has no diarrhea, no fever, only vomits once a day, and is otherwise acting fine although his appetite is less. She thinks it's probably a reaction to the milk. She told me to let his stomach heal for one week then try lactose free whole milk. I thought this was strange since the lactose free stuff is for people with problems to the sugars in the milk, not the proteins.
So, two questions.
1. Is it normal to have vomiting last 48+ since the last drink of WCM?
2. Does it make sense to try lactose free next week or should I be thinking of coconut or almond milk?
