No blump?

So with all the posts about maternity clothes and growing blump/bumps I was wondering if anyone is feeling the opposite? My bloat has gone away and I am still able to wear all my normal clothes comfortably. I was a little worried/discouraged when everyone was posting their blump pics on a previous thread because my stomach is still flat as a board. I know for FTMs it's normal not to show until much later but I'm feeling like the Lone Ranger here lol I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow and if it wasn't for the NT scan last week and my occasional nausea I wouldn't believe there was a baby in there. Anyone else??

Re: No blump?

  • I will be 12 weeks on Friday and Oscar I can still wear all of my clothes. I don't have a bump.

  • I'm 11 weeks and have been "showing" for a few weeks. My bloat is going down though I can tell. Also...I'm a FTM, but was KU 4 months before this BFP which obviously ended in a miscarriage, so I'm assuming that is the reason I got big fast this time. I don't expect to grow much for the next month or so.
  • Well, I was trying to lose weight before I got pregnant (after having knee surgery, random hairline foot fractures, and 2 herniated discs in my back, I was finally feeling good enough physically to do the amount of exercise my odd body requires to lose the fat), and I didn't get very far in that!  So, I have a large amount of, er, stomach for the wee one to push through before I think I'll be able to say "Hey, that's not just me sticking out!"   (And my mom so wonderfully reminded me that I was overweight when I told her I was pregnant - "Oh, it'll be so long before you so show anyway..." Thanks.)

I only had 4 pairs of pants that fit before this excursion started, and only one of them is being problematic right now and I think it's only because they close in exactly the wrong place.

I can't wait until I can say "Hey, I'm fat AND pregnant!" and have people not roll their eyes at me.

    ;)

  • I am only 10 weeks, but have not gained a pound yet.  The bloat has subsided for the most part.  Sometimes at night I have a bit of a blump, but for the most part still the same.

  • I have not gained any weight myself I have actually lost weight. I am perfectly fine with it I know I am healthy and the baby is healthy. I didnt show till 5 months with my first and I still work out and eat healthy as well. I would not worry.

  • No weight gain yet, but I have dealtt with bloat on and off. It's not as bad as it was, but it still pops up at night some days. With the terrible MS I've been having, and the fact that my normal healthy diet went right out the window when the nausea started, I'm pretty darn surprised I haven't put any weight on. The site of a vegetable makes me gag and I haven't had fruit since week 6. Ugh. I'd love to feel better so my diet can go back to normal.

I am sorry are you complaining about having a flat stomach? I kind of want to virtually punch you.

No, she's worried that with so many of us talking about how we can't fit into our clothes anymore that there's something wrong with her or her baby. Just because it's not what YOU'RE worried about doesn't mean that NO ONE can worry about it.

FWIW, OP, I still fit in all of my old clothes. If you look at the photo I posted last week, I have quite the blump, but my stomach always looks like that. I wear size 14 pants and flowy tops normally, and it all still fits. I haven't had any m/s, and I too sometimes wonder if there's a baby in there. I'm sure we will start to truly have bumps soon enough!
  • I'm 12w3d (although I measured a little ahead at my NT scan this morning). I've been really constipated so when I haven't gone in a few days, I can "suck out" to look like a blump, but even then I'm fitting comfortably into everything. After I manage to poo every few days, I look exactly the same. I'm a ftm too. I think it's normal.

  • Some days I look like I have a blump, others I'm the same as I was pre-pregnancy.  Right now I'm wearing my regular jeans comfortably.  Be happy about that!

  • For me, it's hard to tell because I was overweight when I got pregnant. I could easily look like I have a blump, but really it's just fat. Lol. Who knows.
  • Oh my god, I am sooo glad I'm not the only FTM worrying about this. Mu blump has made it impossible to fit into any of my pre-pregnancy pants except for my yoga pants! (I can tell you right now, I am getting super sick of rotating the same four pairs of pants because none of the others fit!)

  • All of my pants still fit normally but I have had to start wearing some maternity tips because my boobs have grown so much that all my old tops are too short now. DH can't wait for me to start showing cause it will be more real for him but baby has a bit of fluff to get through before I will start to show!
  • In the mornings and especially wearing dress pants I'm fine, but tighter jeans and by the end of the day my pants definitely get unbuttoned. I've gained 2 lbs, but I also fluxuate a couple lbs anyways. Just 10w4d. Everybody is different, I'm just so excited for the bump, I can't wait :)
  • I have a non existent bump as well. I'm down 3 pounds since my bfp (and I don't need to lose weight). It's not a washboard stomach, but I was at the beach the other day and no one raised an eyebrow.

    I'm 11 weeks

I literally laughed out loud with this.
  • With my first baby I didn't even begin showing until I was 5 1/2 to 6 months... I wouldn't worry about it.
  • I'm 13 weeks and a STM and my stomach is still flat although not as defined and I'm still in my normal clothes. I started showing at around 20 weeks, so I'm just gonna hold out for another 6-7 weeks. I'm excited to start showing but my God, I was so uncomfortable once I got big. For now, I'm just enjoying being able to see my feet, shave my legs and get in/out of bed without so much effort.
  • I've been so bloated I have had a bump for a couple weeks now...but now I'm 10 weeks and a lot of my bloating has gone away...so now, there's nothing! Funny that I thought I had a bump and now I don't. LOL.

  • I used to have a nice round blump, but it hasn't been around the last couple of days. At least I can sit for extended periods of time and not need to unbutton my pants! :)
