Tummy troubles with Milk

We just switched over to whole milk from formula and it seems to really upset my daughters stomach. We had an allergy panel done and she doesn't have an allergy to milk and is able to eat other dairy products with no issues. She just gets real cranky and cries and it reminds me of when she was colicky, which is why I think it's milk upsetting her stomach. Did anyone else have this problem? Does it just take a while for their tummies to adjust?

Re: Tummy troubles with Milk

  • My son has a milk protein intolerance. This doesn't necessarily show up in an allergy panel. In our case, we have cut out dairy completely and it has made a huge difference. You might consider switching your daughter over to almond, coconut, or rice milk.

  • Thank you. What happened when he drank milk or ate dairy?

My DS has the exact same thing and it also did not show up on the panel. He does Almond milk and avoids all other dairy and is fine. His symptoms include diarrhea, rash and upset tummy/crankiness when he has anything dairy. Doctor said he should grow out of it if not by 1 (which he did not) then by 3 to 5 years old. Let's hope.
