WTF? I am effing old. I didn't know 9 out of 10 people on the pre-show. This Lady Gaga shit is awful. I'm only watching to see the NSYNC reunion but its not worth it.

I just turned it on and seen Lady Gaga in a box or whatever that was. I keep flipping back to it bc I really only want to see the NSYNC reunion and could care less about any of the other stuff. I am guessing they will save the award Justin is getting and NSYNC reunion til the last half hour so they can up the ratings.

Miley Cyrus was completely creepy. She's about 20 and Robin Thicke is late 30's. All I could think was that COULD TECHNICALLY be her Dad. Gross, gross, gross!!

miley is gross. she is trying way to hard to be vulgar and "edgy" it is sad when I like lady gaga's performance better.

I am also recording it soley to see Justin Timberlake and hopefully NSYNC

I wish NSYNC would have had a little more since that is where JT got his start, but I will take one minute and secretly wish that they have a reunion in the future sometime. I will say that this whole performance has made the last hour of horrible performances worth it. I got to relive my teenage years and danced and sang the whole time with DS! loved loved loved it!

I think JT is amazing but NSYNC should have gotten more stage time.

Wtf is up with Miley's whole performance? I actually kind of like her but wtf. The bears and her outfit, her horrible 'singing', and humping everything. By the end of the performance it looked like they were trying not to show her as much. She acted drunk.

The Miley Cyrus performance was just plain trashy. She looked like she was drunk or on drugs and her "dancing"... Just yuck. I lost of how many times she rubbed or grabbed her crotch. Disgusting.

Going to YouTube this nsync performance you all speak of. Oh, I miss nsync.

Well, her career started as a Disney teen. Those teens pretty much build up a following and are seen as role models to young kids. So it's not that she has to be, but that she already was.

I agree with both of these statements actually. She shouldn't be considered one, but she was made to be one by Disney. But considering her parents are talentless white trash as well, I wouldn't expect any of them to feel beholden to the image that made her famous. She's just out to get as much as she can before people finally lose interest. Right now she's about 10 minutes away from a LaLohan meltdown and an Oprah interview.

I saw her interviewed recently and she said she feels like she speaks for all girls or some such nonsense because she has short hair or something. She also talked about setting a good example by doing that skin cancer awareness campaign. So, in some sense, she is trying to be a role model. Or at least has some understanding that she is one.

I also read an interview where she talked about how she was starting a movement and the VMA's were going to be the beginning of it. She was also bragging about how her single debuted at number one and talked about how her video was "so well done".

She just seems to lack any humility whatsoever or any sense of responsibility to anyone. It's gross on so many levels.

I didn't read the quote properly and only just realized the Will Smith and family picture was mentioned. I read too that it was a reaction to Lady Gaga, but having now seen her performance, I think it was really tame compared to Miley's and I wouldn't think anyone would react like that to it.
