Moby wrap for 6 pound baby

Has anyone used a moby wrap for a 6 pound baby?  I noticed on the box it says 8 pounds for the minimum so I want to make sure it's safe.  Also, my back has been killing me, especially my lat on my right side.  Will the carrier make it worse or better than carrying/ holding her in my arms?  Thanks!

Re: Moby wrap for 6 pound baby

  • Not sure about the using it for a 6lb baby...But the Moby distributes the weight so he will be supported as well as your back!

  • I used ours yesterday on our 7 lb baby girl. It worked really good. It will take some adjusting to get them comfy but it worked for us.
  • Both of my kids were just over 6 lbs at birth and I used it within the first two weeks with both of them. I have a pretty small frame though so I figured it wouldn't be any different than someone a little larger than me wearing their 8 lb newborn. My back has been bothering me and I feel like it distributes the weight well. I love my Moby!
  • Our LO was born 6 pounds and hasn't hit 8 just yet. We've used a carrier, not a moby wrap but still, and it worked. Lo loved it too.
