We just made our big Costco trip in preparation for the long days at home with baby. We bought
-several loaves of bread. You can freeze it.
-several packages of lunch meat and big jars of PB&J (this was also for DS who starts school this week)
-Frozen fruit for smoothies
-frozen pizzas
-Fiber 1 bars (good for postpartum pooping and they are non-crumbly so you don't drop crumbs all over baby while nursing)
-Rolled oats (for milk production)
-Lots of frozen quick meals (casseroles, quesadillas, fish filets, pastas, pre-cooked chicken breasts, etc.)
Not exactly all healthy, but in those early weeks you are really just in survival mode. I don't want every meal to be fast food/takeout so I need quick and super easy options, especially if I end up with a RCS.
We just did our Costco run too.. Got very similar things to @Shanmarie.. We also got other easy things like Bagels and English muffins (can also freeze) Tortillas and beans for easy burrito meals Pancake/waffle mix. I usually make from scratch, but I know people visiting will appreciate the convenience of the mix if helping with DD, etc. I also made a bunch of waffles and pancakes already and froze them for quick breakfasts for DD. Cereal - easy Stocked up on TP and paper towels and laundry detergent (not that it's good, but nice not to have to think about) Snack bars and trail mix.. Easy high protein snacks.
I didn't have much of an appetite at all, but I got 2 enormous edible arrangements from family and they saved my life! Pre cut fruit that I could just grab and munch on whenever, amazing!!
This time my mom is going to get some fruit after I deliver and cut it all up so I have it ready to go when I get home - cheaper than edible arrangements, but same effect lol. Unfortunately fruit's not something you can really buy ahead of time since you don't know exactly when you'll go into labor.
I know a lot of people do freezer meals, but I just felt way too blah to sit down and eat a whole dinner for a few weeks.
I definitely appreciated quick meals and snacks more than freezer meals. It sounds crazy but there were lots of times I didn't even want to wait 45 minutes for a frozen lasagna to heat up in the oven.

Pretty much the same for us. Plus, I made the mistake of going hungry so I took the "unhealthy" foods one step further, and we ended up with bulk items like mini corn dogs and pizza rolls. And no, I don't have other children to feed at home. I just want to eat things that toddlers and children enjoy.
We're winging it. We bought a bunch of snacks for me to eat while BF'ing- granola bars and fiber one bars in ridiculous quantities, and some nuts and trail mix. Along with a bunch of bottled water. FTM here, but my breastfeeding class advised that we prepare this type of stuff.
We stocked up on easy to make things like oatmeal, cereal and a few frozen staples- pizza, fruit, chicken breasts.
My parents live nearby and my mom will gladly pick up groceries for us if and when we need them, so I'm not going to go overboard.

I made mini morning glory muffins (fairly nutritious with carrots, apples, raisins, nuts, wheat germ...) and froze them. They were awesome for middle of the night nursing snacks; not much else was filling. My ILs stayed with us and had bought some fruit they cut up... and I "stole" most of it. I'm definitely going to ask whoever visits us this time to go out and get me some melons and stuff and cut them up I was SO freaking hungry the first few weeks PP.
Lots of nuts, almonds especially are supposed to boost milk supply.
Oatmeal (big canisters and the flavored packets)
Granola bars
TV dinners (I know this isn't most people favorite thing, but they are high in protein and are easy to make and feel like you've had a real mean with minimal effort)
Bottled drinks (stocking up on powerade this time since many swear by it for milk production)
Dried fruit (I prefer to fresh in some cases)
Prunes
Crackers/cheese/tuna for snack meals
Chocolate!!! Ok, my ILs got me a huge bag of milk chocolate "to help me make milk" . Mil said that her dad always got her chocolate after having a baby for the same reason. It's just a cute little joke, but, as chocolate relaxes me, it was nice during nursing sessions!
