traveling w/o baby

I am going to surprise my dad for his 70th birthday in October and I amm debating on whether or not to take the kids.  If I go by myself I would be gone from early Saturday morning until Tuesday morning.  I have a 5 year old son and DD will be 8 months at that time.  I know DH can handle it but I am nervous about it for some reason.  I think I am nervous about being away from DD for 3 nights.  I BF so I would pump which isn't a big deal, I just feel like I will really miss her.

I could aslo take them which would be fine but I am wondering if I should take this opportunity to recharge?  My family wants me to bring the kiddos so they can see them but we are probably going see them at CHristmas, only 2 months after my dad's birthday.  I know ultimately I have to make the decision and they will be fine with whatever I choose.
Any experience with this?  Have you left your LO with DH for 3+nights?

    I would take the baby too. We just traveled across the country with our 7 m/o and he did great. I don't think I could leave my LO that early on.

    I am always for adult only vacations!  I BF too but I would pump and enjoy the break.  Assuming you totally think your DH can handle it, I would enjoy your time.
