I only want one stroller

Maybe I'm crazy, but I really only want one stroller- one that can be folded to fit in a hatchback, rugged for light "off roading", and maneuverable in shopping settings. Am I crazy? Can it be done? Any stroller recommendations? One friend recommends the Ciry Select. Thanks ladies!

Re: I only want one stroller

  • I have a Phil and teds ( with doubles kit ) I love love love it! I live in a town where only about %10 of the roads are paved so its mostly off reading for us . It's folds down pretty slim and maneuvers like a dream . The only downside is it doesn't have great storage or cup holders but it doesn't bug us to much since we have saddle bags for it . I have also heard lots of great stuff about the city select . I suggest going out and trying out a bunch of strollers to see what fits your lifestyle the best .

  • Baby jogger city mini or gt, and britax b agile are great strollers that are easily folded and can do light off roading.
  • For your needs if I had to narrow mine down to 1 I'd keep the city mini, hands down.
  • Thank you! I'll make a trip up to BBB soon to test them out. :-)

  • And I want a million dollars ;) ya there is no stroller that will fulfill all your needs, which is why we have 4.
    Truth.

  • I only have 1 stroller and it is an uppababy vista. I would like an umbrella stroller someday soon for the car. I don't like putting my vista in the trunk. It takes up most of the space there.

  • Hi,

Do you think the City mini is good for that light off-roading? Or if you could do it over again would you get the gt?

    Thanks!
  • GT. Habe the regular city mini & have been coveting the GT wheels.

  • It's not super realistic to end up with 1 stroller to meet all of your needs, unless you have a child who grows out of the stroller stage early on or who you wear most of the time. Maybe the City Mini GT if you don't mind your child not facing you. With my kids it wasn't an option for me because I wanted the interaction and control for the first year or so. I am not a big fan of using a car seat on the stroller so if I did go with a GT I'd get the bassinet in addition to the adapters. It's a nice stroller, but not super light so down the road you may still want something with less weight.

If you're considering a city mini (which I have and love, but 5 strollers) I'd look into the Valco zee. It's similar to the city mini but with better storage. There's video reviews on YouTube
  • I post about the Uppababy Cruz on here so much that people probably think I work for them, lol.  Before having the twins, that was my use-it-for-everything stroller and I loved it.  It's smaller and lighter than the Vista but retains a lot of the features I really liked (huge basket, no-kick rear axle, awesome enormous sun canopy, reversible seat, etc).

  • We only have one stroller, the Britax B Ready. Works as a snap and go with the infant car seat and there's a bassinet, so it's great for the infant stage. The seat can be parent facing or forward facing. There is a TON of storage room, I can do a small grocery shop with it. And the wheels are great for off roading, we walk on rugged, root filled park trails regularly. It's been my favorite baby item thus far!

I go off roading with my city Mini double all the time.  Trails, grass, gravel.  Not a problem.

  • We only have one.  We have a bugaboo frog that I love.
  • Just 1 - B Agile.

Great for all uses thusfar.  Thought we'd want an umbrella stroller, but hard to justify when they weigh almost as much as the B Agile.  We've hiked on trails with ours (not ideal - bought a backpack carrier now instead), but it did great in our winter weather and seems to be holding up great.

This. I love my Cruz. I have taken it out on dirt paths with people who have BOBs and it does just fine.

  • I guess I'm low maintenance when it comes to strollers because we have only used one for the past three years with my son.  I have the Chicco Cortina travel system and have loved it from day one.  It's heavy, but not ridiculous--besides you only lift it out of the car it's not like you carry it around like a purse.  It rides super nicely, and steers great even with one hand.  My sister liked it better than her Peg Perego.  That being said I don't jog, I suppose you would need something else to suit that purpose.
  • It can be done! The City Mini GT has been that exact stroller for us.  I love it!

  • Thank you all! I will be looking into the b-agile and the city mini in addition to the city select. Thanks again!

  • I think the City Mini is so overrated and it's not very good on non smooth surfaces and the basket stinks.  Everyone at the Bump loves the City Mini though...

I would look at the Baby Jogger Versa or Bumbleride Indie if you are interested in air tires.  The BOB Motion could also be good.

I used my Uppababy Vista and my one and only for 15 months til we had #2 and loved that also.  I really value parent facing strollers personally and I want it to push like butter and have a good basket.

Another UB Cruz fan here!!  Been over 9 months and still love it every time I use it! LO seems to enjoy it as well.    We will be taking it on our first family vacay in a couple of weeks and we also bought the UB travelsafe travel bag to gate check it. Looking forward to many more years w/the Cruz.

  • We have the UB Vista. I love it for strolling around the neighborhood, but we are going to need to get another stroller for being out and about. For me, it is a pain to collapse and heavy to be taking in and out of the car. At 6 months or so, we are getting an UB G Luxe. I can't imagine having to lug the vista everywhere. We bought this when we lived in the city and I think it is more practical for city moms.

  • I also am not a fan of the city mini. We took one trip with it as it was our travel stroller to the uk....ended up buying a baby jogger city versa gt in London. Here is why you will be satisfied: it has awesome wheels, can fully recline (uppa baby Cruz does not I think).... I hate dangling feet when they are sleeping, can face inwards or outwards and folds with the seat in it. I have to say, we have the orbit baby and bugaboo cameleon, so we are used to the luxuries of a full size stroller. The bj cv is the only stroller that came close with all the luxuries of a full size stroller and an easy compact one piece fold.

I absolutely love my Phil and Teds stroller (we use it as a double as well). I'm due to have my fourth baby in just a few weeks - I'm going to spend the next couple weeks going over my favorite baby products in details including why I love my stroller so much.

  • I don't think you have to have multiple strollers. We have the B-Agile and it's our only stroller. Love it! (LO is 1 year old.)
