April 2013 Moms

Tomorrow's the day.....

LO starts daycare tomorrow. I put him in a week earlier so that we could both adjust before i go back to teaching. I spent the entire time silently crying while feeding him his bedtime bottle and putting him to bed tonight. I feel so guilty leaving him there. Tomorrow will surely be the hardest day of my life. Please tell me this will get easier :(

Re: Tomorrow's the day.....

 • Tomorrow will be hard I won't lie to you. But it will get easier every day. I promise. And if you are confident in your caregiver that helps too. My oldest just turned 5 and just finished her last week of day care. She is such a confident and smart little girl and a lot of that comes from her time there. Just take it one day at a time and keep telling yourself you are working to give your child the best life possible. Good luck!!!

 • It will be hard, but DON'T feel guilty! Daycare is good for kids -- curriculum, socialization, a break for mom... James LIGHTS UP when I put him in his teacher's arms each morning! It was hard for us both the first few days but they adore each other and no tears since day 3!

 • It will most definitely get easier! I promise!!!! I had a really hard time putting my LO in daycare .... I cried when I registered her. Cried many times while thinking about it on my maternity leave and cried when we dropped her off for her trial run.......however a month in and I am THRILLED with her daycare. It's made my life much easier having here there (even though I feel a little guilty admitting that)..... Now I am at the point where the only part I don't like about it is writing the damn check every Friday ---that part SUCkS!
