Question for Baby food making mama's

Okay so I have been making baby foods and freezing them for when D is able to eat them. Between my crap blender and Kitchenaid stand mixer it has been alright but, I was wondering what you use to make your food. Recommend your blender or tell me what you hate about it!! TIA ladies!

  • I have a kitchen aid stand mixer but I never thought about putting the food in there. I use a junky blender (can't think of brand name but its pretty old) that works ok but a few weeks ago I was at Marshalls and I saw a Dr. Brown's immersion blender (the kind that you hold) on sale for 14.99 for baby food use. Its so much easier! I love to be able to direct where the blender will go and its a lt easier to clean up.

  • Thanks for asking this! I keep putting off buying a baby food making device. I had registered for a Baeba but didn't get one and really can't afford to buy one. I don't have a food processor but do have an immersion blender. Maybe this will be enough, at least for now!

I would definitely just use the immersion blender. Its so much easier and the clean up is easier. I never use my food processor. I found I had to add too much liquid to get it going but maybe I just have a crappy food processor.

  • I haven't tried it, but last February I bought my friend a Baby Bullet and she loves it! It gets really great reviews online as well

  • I have the Beaba Babycook which makes for very convenient food making. I love it, but I will say we got it on a total fluke. DH was traveling for work, went to some outlets on his free time and popped into a Pottery Barn outlet. They had 7 of them on display really, really cheap. They were shipped there in error or something. So we got it for less than $100. I don't think I ever would have paid full price for it. But since I have it, I love that you can steam the veggies and then make the food all in the same unit. Just less dishes afterwards. So I love it but I don't think it's worth its actual price.

That is so awesome! I don't mind the extra dishes really, although if I didn't have to that would be cool too. Thank you!

My bosses wife is going to let me borrow hers to see if I like it! I have a cheap and crappy Hamilton beach blender that DH bought for milkshakes.

  • I have a regular Cuisinart food processor. Don't waste your money on the baby food processors because once your baby starts eating real food, those things just end up wasting valuable storage space.  They're only on purees for like a few months and that's it.  If you already have something like a food processor, use it.  If you don't, well...it's up to you on what you want to do...if you think you'll have more kids in the future, then get a baby system. If you think you can get more use out of a food processor using it for a variety of things, get that instead.  GL! :)

  • I used our blender, though mostly I used our food processor. Not a bad investment if you don't already have one, because it does way more than make baby food.
