So my almost 5 month old son has been extra fussy because of teething. At daycare, they had suggested I bring orajel for him and then flat out asked this past Thursday because his first tooth broke through his gums. I was already against the idea of orajel but I called the doctor's office to check and the nurse said it wasn't recommended. She suggested using cold teething toys and if he's in too much discomfort, a bit of tylenol. I took the toys and tylenol on Friday. However, I mentioned to DH that I'm worried they'll start giving him tylenol everyday. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me so I can give them other options to try before using medication?

I agree with pp's suggestion regarding Sophie. She's a glorified and expensive toy, but she is also magical.
