When did your nips toughen up for those who are BFing? Nursing itself is fine, but I find they're just really sore... Like anything rubbing against them (a towel, clothing, etc) is so painful.
Me too. I try to be very careful while drying off after a shower. Ouch!
I'd almost rather drip dry! I mean seriously... if the pain of standing there with cold nips wasn't so bad I'd stand there and not even use a towel. I don't know what's worse, cold nips or patting them dry.

LO is 4 weeks today and the latching just got so it's tolerable. The rest of nursing is fine. But I still am so sensitive with clothing, showering, drying off, etc. I EP'ed with my first two kids and I rememberctgatcsensitivity lasting the whole time. I hope it's different with BFing but I'm not getting my hopes up.
My doctor perscribed me a cream called Jack Neumans Nipple Cream. Its a compound of a few oitments and it has saved me- pain is very minimal. Would highly recommend it to everyone breast feeding!
Mine are normally fine but this week they've been more sensitive. I think I have a bleb on one nipple though so that doesn't help. I had one last pregnancy and hoped to avoid it this time. I don't know what I hate more, mastitis or a milk bleb.

Re: Sore Nips
My little love was born July 20th, 2013!
BFP 11.11.12
TTC #1 Since March 2012
Getting better every day. I regularly rub my milk over them, and only wear a bra & top when I have to leave the house. Seems to really help!
